Conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck makes her political views very known on The View. Even though, she's definitely one-sided at times (and perhaps a little annoying), I certainly don't think a married mom of two, who just happens to be on TV should get death threats because of her political opinions!
According to The New York Post, fellow View co-host Whoopi Goldberg told an Art and Educational Justice symposium crowd that Hasselbeck receives more death threats than anyone else on the show. Seriously, the others get death threats too?
However, an ABC spokesperson denies such claims to Extra, or that Whoopi even said that. "Whoopi was completely misquoted. She never said that."
Whoopi, although she and Elisabeth are total opposites when it comes to the politics, says she respects her co-worker. "Politically we could not be more opposite, but I respect her tremendously, "said Goldberg. "Truth is, we could not have a dialogue without Elisabeth. It's not that we have to agree; the important thing is that we have the conversation."
But the same might not be said for the relationship between Joy Behar and Elisabeth. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the two are not speaking when not on camera.
A View rep says it's not true though. "These fabricated rumors about alleged dissension between Elisabeth and Joy are as untrue today as they were yesterday, a week ago and when the rumor(s) first started."
