I know, we're all parents here, which is to say, GROWN UPS, but still: we might associate celebrity influence on things like politics with the young and impressionable, but can any of us honestly say that we're not moved by stuff like this?:
I'm ordinarily pretty suspicious of celebrity politicking - I mean, there's nothing that qualifies a celebrity as possessing special political insight (no, not even Bono) - but when it comes to just encouraging people to engage in politics, well, there's kind of no down side to that. Whatever works.
If something like that video gave you even more motivation to go out and vote, well, that's a good thing, right? I mean, it's not like you wouldn't have voted otherwise. And maybe there are still some people out there who wouldn't have voted, until someone like Indiana Jones insisted that not voting was not an example that he wants to set for his kids. And if something like that video was the deciding factor in getting even one person to vote who might not have otherwise done so, that's a good thing.
All the more if Borat does it.
What do you think?
