Angelina Plans to Fade Away
Angelina Jolie is still doing publicity for her latest movie, “The Changeling.” She recently opened up about show business and her family. She and Brad Pitt have their hands busy with six children: Maddox, 7, Pax, 5, Zahara, 3-1/2, Shiloh, 2, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 4 months.
Angelina says that the public see what they want to see, and they don’t really acknowledge the “reality” of her life, which is more about diapers and bedtime stories than anything else. The 33-year-old actress says her life is more mundane these days than glamourous, by far.
“They like to make things a little fantastic,” she says. People like to imagine that, I guess, in some way…But I like to think that people can see through that and I think that there are a lot of people out there — for example mothers — that can see through a lot of stuff and can know that we’re similar in many ways.”
“I have a lot of children and I have a big responsibility to make sure they’re growing right,” Angelina says. This coming from a woman who is a top box office attraction and a United Nations ambassador. She purposefully exposes her kids to different cultures. “I want them to see all different countries. I want to learn with them about the world and certainly, wherever I can, shine light on situations I think are important.”
As for selling photos of her twins to People magazine, she says it was either that or “people breaking into our property or the hospital” to get shots of the twins. Better to just sell the photos and donate the money to charity…”something we can make positive and do some good.”
All in all, Angelina says that she’ll gradually be changing to a life away from Hollywood. She wants fewer and fewer roles since she really enjoys “being home a lot these days.” She knows that her life in the spotlight won’t last forever. She looks forward to “fading away” and “being a grandma one day.”
