The star of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," Nia Vardalos and her husband, Ian Gomez, have adopted a daughter. Nia, 46, adopted a girl a few months ago and is just now releasing the news for National Adoption Month. The daughter is less than 5, but she's not revealing much more information than that.
Nia's rep says, "They are going public now to bring attention to National Adoption Month and the 500,000 children in foster care. Of these children, 129,000 are 'legally free' for adoption and waiting for a family."
And today is National Adoption Day! Welcome to momhood, Nia!
Nia is scheduled to release a couple of romantic comedies in the near future: "My Life in Ruins" and "I Hate Valentine's Day."
