Britney Spears: Six Rules Her Dad Enforces

Posted by Sassy Smith

Britney Spears went from crazy, erratic behavior which resulted in losing custody of her sons, to getting her life together, getting fit and having more time with her boys, all because her dad Jamie stepped in and gave his daughter direction.  Spears has six rules that he's put in place for Brit and he expects her to adhere to them.

Britney is staging a career comeback and her father wants to make sure she succeeds as well as keep her mental health in check, so he's got a list of things Brit must follow to help keep her on the right track.

Rule # 1:

No drinking.  Britney was a pretty heavy duty party girl but that's changed.  She will have an occasional glass of champagne but that's it.

Rule # 2:

Always have a chaperone.  Jamie was staying at Britney's house, but he no longer does that.  He does however, insist on accompanying her everywhere, including social and work events.

Rule # 3:

No E-Mail.  Britney is able to text message and make calls on her Blackberry, but dad Jamie does not allow her to send e-mails, according to a family friend.

Rule # 4:

Britney gets an allowance.  Jamie stepped in and saved his daughter's $120 million fortune that was in jeopardy of dwindling quickly with Brit's crazy spending.  She now gets $1,500 a month to spend how she wants.  She is allowed to use her American Express care for special purchases.

Rule # 5:

Approval of friends.  Jamie keeps tabs on who spends time with Britney and anyone with a negative influence is not permitted to be around his daughter.

Rule # 6:

No driving.  Britney does have a valid driver's license now, however her dad wants her to be chauffeured.  A pal said, "Jamie's not comfortable with her driving.  He doesn't think she's calm enough to handle being on the road."

The rules might seem a bit excessive for a nearly 27-year-old woman, but Britney still seems very immature and not quite ready to stand on her own two feet.  She's definitely on the mend, but I think she does need direction from her dad, who seems to be doing a good job.  It's a shame that her mom and dad didn't put this much effort into their daughter as she was growing up in the spotlight.  Better late than never I guess.

On your last comment "It's a shame that her mom and dad didn't put this much effort into their daughter as she was growing up in the spotlight.  Better late than never I guess." This is a very judgemental comment.

Why does parents always have to be criticized for whatever wrong doing their grown-up children do?  Are you a parent?  DO yo even know what you're talking about?  Do you have any idea what Britney's parents went through with all this ordeal?  Do you know how much it hurts to see your kid fall apart...much worst in the eyes of the public?

Most parents try to teach their kid proper manners and right etiquette.  Right from wrong.  But sometimes as our kids grow old, they think they know what they're doing coz they're already an adult...they refuse to listen and they just do whatever they want to do even if they know it's wrong.  They think it's cool.  Are the parents always to blame? NO.  The problem with people like you is you are quick to point finger on somebody.  Britney is an adult and she is responsible for her actions.  She is lucky to have a mother and a father who despite her rebellion stuck around for her no matter what.  That's what I call unconditional love.  You are supposed to give them credit for that.

If you look back at all the events in Britney's public life...Britney was not messing up her life when she was with her parents...it's when she lived on her own - without her parents.  Now that she's back with her parents...she's trying to be wholesome again.  Why?  That's because parent's knows what's best for their loved kids.

Stop criticizing Britney's father and mother.  They did what they thought was best for their kids.  There's no perfect rules for parenting.  We're all human.  So stop judging.  As for Britney, yes she made some mistakes...but the most important thing is she's trying to make it right this time.  You must also give her credit for that.

Puleeeeeeese...give this family a break.  They might be celebrities and they might not be perfect, but they're also human. They're allowed to make mistakes! Get over it and stop capitalizing on their lives.  Have mercy on these people. Drop it already!!!!!

Yes I'm a parent. And Britney's mother wrote a tell-all about her own daughter - now that's great parenting. Cashing in on your kid.

It's great that her father is caring and watching over her so well.  It's also great to see her making her comeback, thanks to her father's support.

I'm confused.  Is she mentally ill and unable to care for herself?  This grown woman and mother of two in her later twenties.  Why does her father have any say at all?

I completely agree with Joy people really need to drop it and leave them alone, take your judgments somewhere else. And to the comment about Britney's mom's book IF you knew anything you'd know it's not a tell-all or anything close to.
