Britney Spears gets candid in her new documentary, Britney: For the Record. She talks about being in the spotlight constantly and gives her side of the story, in what was a very public breakdown. Brit says her controlled environment now feels like "Groundhog Day."
Britney is making a career comeback and her about-to-be-released album is getting pretty good reviews, it would seem that all is well in the singer's world, but beneath the promise of a fresh start, there's another story.
Spears says, "There's no excitement, there's no passion. I have really good days, and then I have bad days. Even when you go to jail, y'know, there's the time when you're gonna get out. But in this situation, it's never ending. It's just like Groundhog Day every day."
Britney still feels she has to "pay" for her breakdown.
She adds, "I think it's too in control. If I wasn't under the restraints I'm under, I'd feel so liberated. When I tell them the way I feel, it's like they hear but they're really not listening. If you do something wrong in your work, you can move on, but I'm having to pay for a long time. I never wanted to become one of those prisoner people. I always wanted to feel free. I think I've learnt my lesson now and enough is enough."
Spears discusses everything from her career, to her divorce from Kevin Federline in 2006 and the ensuing custody issues with her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James and her public meltdown. She has lots to talk about.
I can't even imagine the sort of fish bowl she has to live in. No wonder she went off the deep-end for awhile.
The 90-minute special will air November 30 on MTV, just 2 days before her Circus album release.
