Killers' Brandon Flowers Says Fatherhood Gives Life Context

Posted by Karl Erikson

With the release of their new album "Day & Age" coming next week, The Killers are preparing for a world tour. Frontman Brandon Flowers, 27, says it's difficult to tour when he has 16-month-old Ammon at home with his wife Tana. Tana "gets to stay home and do fun things with the baby," Brandon says. "Our kids are gonna be lucky." Of course, his recording time and all that world traveling to support his music has its price.

"He cries when I go to the store. And then if I'm gonna go for a month I think, 'Is he gonna remember me?' It's hard. It's scary. But we'll figure it out. People have been doing it for a while."

His son helps his faith, Brandon says. And while he still doesn't quite "feel like a man," he says that Ammon has taken him "a giant step" closer to the goal. "I'm trying my best to become one," he says. "And a good one. Fatherhood puts it all in context. I'd always think of how much I wanna devote my life to what I do and that just hit a brick wall. 'Uh, I really gotta rethink thing.'"

Ammon is Brandon's and Tana's first child. They married 3 years ago. The new Killers album drops next week. And dare I say it? The first track is killer. Listen yourself.
