The Real Deal: Pete Wentz Talks Bronx Mowgli!
Many baby name ‘experts’ have been weighing in on why Ashlee Simpson Wentz and Pete Wentz have named their newborn son, Bronx Mowgli. However, the daddy himself is speaking out on what their baby’s name means. Speaking of Ashlee, how is the new mom feeling?
Proud new dad, Pete spoke to E! News Ryan Seacrest:
“I feel weird – people have all these ideas of what it means now. I think it’s kind of cool to leave the narrative the way it is.
“People are stoked or pissed or whatever… I don’t think anybody knows the real story of why or how.”
Pete adds, “We came up with the idea Bronx, we’d been throwing it back and forth a while ago The Jungle Book is something me and Ashlee bonded over. It’s really cool.”
And Wentz is enjoying his new duties and that includes changing diapers. He says, “Yeah, I’ve changed quit a few. I’ve definitely done a couple of exploding ones.”
The 29-year-old musician said he was “instantly in love,” with his new son and “it’s impossible not to be.” He and Ashlee’s lives have changed already.
How is Ashlee?
Pete said she’s “pretty much a saint.” Adding, “Right before she went into labor, I was pretty much like, ‘Oh my god, I think I’m having a heart attack.’ She took care of me and made sure I was OK,” even though she was in “all this pain.”
He continued, “She’s really good, really good, actually. The grandmas have been really good, helping us a lot.”
And all of their well-intended friends are hoping to catch a glimpse of the new Wentz. “Yeah, it’s like opening a new spot in L.A. Everyone’s trying to get in every night – they’re like, ‘No, I know Pete, kind of.’ I’m like, you do not have a plus-one.”
The new family of three are expected to move to New York in the spring. Yes, Bronx is heading to Brooklyn!
