Nicole Kidman Wants Sunday To Sound Southern

Posted by Sassy Smith

Despite being Aussies, Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban welcomed their daughter Sunday Rose in Nashville and mom Nicole is really hoping that her little one picks up a Southern accent.  The couple said having their baby there "just felt right."  Nicole added, "I'm just glad that she is able to say she's born and bred in Nashville and Tennessee.  I think it's very appropriate, considering her daddy."

She added of Keith, "His whole life was headed here.  From a little boy, he dreamed of coming here.  For him to be able to say his baby girl was born here, I think is very special."

Nicole spoke with The Tennessean and said that Sunday's birth was "peaceful," and thanked the medical staff at Baptist Hospital for being "just wonderful."

She said, "It was very simple and people allowed us that very, very special moment to, I suppose, fuse together more and also bond with our baby."

The 41-year-old actress said that the people of Williamson County, Tenn. are wonderful and she feels at ease in the community.  She and Keith will most likely be there for many years to come.  They enjoy the quiet beauty of it all.

And what about Nicole's older children with ex-husband Tom Cruise?  While Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13, like spending time with their mom obviously, they're not struck on life on the farm, but they do appreciate the heritage of their surroundings.  Says Nicole, "They are city kids right now, so I'm hoping they'll want to spend more and more time here as they get older.  They are at the stage of being 16 and my son is going to turn 14, so they're like, 'Show us some action.'  But they love music as well."
