Last Tango in Paris - starring Marlon Brando, Maria Schneider and Jean Pierre Léaud - is a 1973 film about an American widower who becomes involved sexually with a young, soon-to-be-married woman. And according to reports, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are looking for a movie in which they could star together - and that it could be a remake of Last Tango. I'm not quite picturing it.
Now magazine is reporting that the couple want movie roles where they can play opposite each other. A film studio exec said, "They're looking at remaking Last Tango in Paris, but anything sexy with a good story appeals.
"Tom's looking for something that's cutting edge and sexy, but also accessible. He's thinking along the lines of Basic Instinct - a movie that has a mainstream plot, but also some intense sex stuff.
"He hasn't found the script yet, but both he and Katie are reading a few that could fit the bill."
Uh, a TomKat sex scene? I'm not sure people want to see that (I don't!). Their kids certainly wouldn't be able to watch something like that! Why not do a nice, kid-friendly Disney movie? Ya, how about that?
