Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz are brand new parents to baby Bronx Mowgli but what many may not know is that the pregnancy was not planned. Pete says, "It was a happy accident. But I think that certain things happen for a reason in your life, and maybe it was time to put the wild child in a cage."
Wentz tells Details magazine, that his son is just the excuse he needs to get past his old rock-star ways. Pete admits to prescription drug experimentation, including his attempted overdose on Ativan in 2005. However, the death of Heath Ledger in January gave Pete great pause.
He said, "Dude, after Heath Ledger, I was just like, Man, this is not going to end up good."
Pete says that Ashlee has also played a part in his maturing. He said, "I realized I'd found my soul mate, and it made me want to be a better person. Now, with the baby, I want to be the best dad I can be." The two wed in an Alice in Wonderland-themed ceremony in May.
And would the newlyweds ever do a reality show?
Nope. The Fallout Boy bassist said, "I get pitched, like, Newlyweds 2 once a week dude. For like, move-to-an-island-after-this money. I just can't do it." Uh ya, we saw what happened to Ashlee's sister, Jessica. Stay away from the reality TV - especially with a baby!
And really, it's not a big deal that Bronx wasn't planned - out of my four kids, only one was. Doesn't mean they were less wanted!
