Kate Winslet Keeps Nude Scenes Real

Kate Winslet likes to keep things "real," especially when it comes to movie roles and particularly doing nude scenes.  Said Kate, who is playing an older woman engaged in an affair with a younger man, in The Reader, "It was important to me to look real.  I really don't believe in this notion that actors and actresses should look untouchably perfect."

And how is it filming love scenes with actor David Kross, who is 15 years younger than she is?  "It was the same as shooting any other scene of that nature.

"A scene with that level of intimacy involving nudity, you know, it's always nerve-wracking, and you really have to rehearse those scenes so that everybody knows exactly what's going on."

She, however, did find it difficult to go through the "aging" process for the movie - she was playing a woman 35 years older than she is now.  Winslet admits it "was exhausting."

She adds, "It took seven hours to put on every day and the body suit weighs about 15 pounds."  Can you imagine seven hours of prep time?  Yikes!

I wonder if, when her kids are grown, if they'll watch some of their mother's movies that they're obviously too young to see now?  I think part of that would be cool, but also sort of weird, especially if your mom is doing nude scenes.  But maybe if you're a kid who grows up with actor parents, it's no big deal?
