Kate Hudson's son Ryder, 4, might want to prepare himself for not getting that Wii or new skateboard for Christmas. Hudson says she'll be knitting all her presents this year. Don't worry Ryder - a spiffy new cardigan or a fluffy muffler is just as much fun as Super Mario Galaxy.
Hudson, who was interviewed on Friday at a press conference for her new movie Bride Wars, says she's feeling the economic pinch just like everyone else, and that's where her craftiness will come in handy. “I think it’s a really weird time and I think that everyone is feeling it," she says. “We’ve always been pretty crafty anyway. We all knit. The girls knit. This year I’m doing these great big knit…well, actually I shouldn’t even talk about it because I can’t say it!”
Come to think of it, I'm pretty broke, too, and some handmade gifts might be just the answer. I don't knit, but I think I might be able to make a couple of nice paperweights out of some rocks and tempera paint. Hey - it's the thought that counts.
