The first thing I thought of when I saw this story was, "What? A used Porsche? They couldn't afford a new one?" The second thing I thought was, "I should really stop reading about celebrities and get some Christmas shopping done."
Cyrus, who just turned 16 on Nov. 23 and got her learner's permit last week, is getting the hand-me-down Porsche Cayenne from her mom, Tish. "Tish got a new car recently, so she's giving Miley her old car," a source tells People magazine. "She's so excited. Her mom lets her drive to work when she's with her."
As a parent, I think it's a mistake to start off your kids with such a nice set of wheels - when the bar is set so high, where's there to go from here? What will they be wanting by the time they're 21? A Lear jet? Their very own Space Shuttle? Personally, I plan on starting off my kids with a Kia that's on its fourth owner and is missing two of its doors. By the time they're in their 30's they'll have worked their way up to a barely-used Accord.
