Levi Johnston's mother, Sherry L. Johnston, has been arrested! She was taken into custody Thursday and has been charged with six felony counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance. Her son Levi and his fiance, Bristol Palin are set to give birth on Saturday, so I guess grandma might not be around to see her grandchild be born!
A statement issued by troopers, who served the warrant at Johnston's home said she was arrested at the "conclusion of an undercover narcotics investigation."
Sherry Johnston has been charged with second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance - generally manufacturing or delivering drugs - and fourth-degree misconduct involving controlled substances, or possesion. She was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond Thursday afternoon.
Authorities would not release any other details but said that the investigation had been going on " a while" prior to Johnston's arrest.
Sarah Palin's rep Bill McAllister released a statement by e-mail, indicating that they won't actually be releasing a statement: "This is not a state government matter. Therefore the governor's communications staff will not be providing comment or scheduling interview opportunities."
This might make for uncomfortable tension when the Palin and Johnston families get together for the wedding of Levi and Bristol and the birth of their baby. Of course grandmother-to-be Johnston is innocent until proven guilty.
Hopefully the soon-to-be-parents will be better role models than grandma.
