For years there was talk of Michael Jackson making a career comeback but to date it's never happened. There were rumors of a Jackson 5 reunion, of Michael doing a stint in Vegas and duets with other popular artists. Had he done any of those things, he may have been able to dig his way out of the massive financial debt he's now found himself in. But there may be a very good reason he's never tried to get his career back on track - Michael is reportedly suffering from a fatal lung disease.
According to Michael Jackson biographer Ian Halperin, the 50-year-old former pop star is suffering from Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency - a genetic lung disorder that could kill him if he doesn't receive a lung transplant and soon.
Jackson is said to be in failing health - he can barely speak and has lost 95% of his vision in his left eye.

Halperin claims his lung condition has become more acute. The writer added: "He has had Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency for years but it’s gotten worse. He needs a lung transplant but may be too weak to go through with it. He also has emphysema and chronic gastrointestinal bleeding, which his doctors have had a lot of trouble stopping. It’s the bleeding that’s the most problematic part. It could kill him."
What if this is true? What would happen to Michael's three children? Who would raise them? They have a nanny who is like a mother-figure to them - would she care for them if something were to happen to their father?
