Which much-loved television actor - famous for playing bumbling dads - was reported dead today? And then alive again? And then...?
Paul Reiser, star of My Two Dads and Mad About You (what ever happened to that show? Why does it not run in syndication alongside Seinfeld and Friends? Also, whatever happened to the nineties?) was reported this morning to have been found dead in a river.
According to E! Online:
Former Mad About You star Paul Reiser this
morning became, ever so briefly, the latest star to be prematurely
killed off by the Internet when two new ominous and completely
unverifiable sentences popped up in his Wikipedia biography.
"On December 27th, 2008 Reiser was discovered dead in the Squallahassee River where he reportedly enjoyed fly fishing," the amended entry read. "No foul play was suspected."
E! goes on to explain, however, that the Wikipedia entry was tampered with and that the story was a hoax.
Which, phew. It'd be pretty sad if Reiser kicked it before Mad About You comes out in box sets. It'd be sad either way, duh, but still - dude should get those residuals while he's still living, no? Especially since he only ever had kids in TV-land.
