New mom, UK's Strictly Come Dancing star Jill Halfpenny, assumes she put on weight during her pregnancy - she didn't step on the scale once - and now she's back into her old clothes and feels like herself again.
Halfpenny said of her first pregnancy, "I'm presuming I put on a few stone. I'm at my pre-baby size now, a size 10, which I'm happy about."
She added, "As soon as I was back in my old clothes I felt myself again."
Jill said she ate sensibly during her pregnancy but knew weight-gain was "inevitable" and she approached her weight-loss slowly and allowed nature to "take its course." She began her diet and workout routine three months after giving birth.
The 33-year-old English actress said, "I cut my portion sizes and made sure I wasn't eating the wrong things. When you are working out you have a bit more respect for what you are eating anyway. You think, 'I've just been to the gym for an hour, I don't want to put that crap in my mouth.'"
Jill is thrilled with motherhood, saying it's "brilliant" and an "incredibe experience," and "the best thing in... life, by a mile." She however, didn't think as much about being pregnant. (Can't say I blame her)
"Really bad morning sickness," was a "struggle." She said her labor and delivery was "very long and painful." But her son was worth it.
"My son's just getting to an age now where he's responding to what you do and laughing and smiling, and when they get to that age it's so rewarding."
Baby Harvey is 8-months-old. Jill is married to Craig Conway.
