Star of "Law & Order: SVU" Mariska Hargitay suffered a freak sledding accident in the Hamptons and, as a result, received a partially collapsed lung. In medical jargon, they call it a pneumothorax...oh, those doctors with their high-fallutin' names!
According to Mariska's rep, "She will appear in all episodes for the rest of the season on Law & Order: SVU."
Now we know why she didn't go to the Golden Globes on Sunday. She was nominated for an award, but I guess those collapsed lungs really take it out of you.
Mariska has been married to actor and writer Peter Hermann for over 4 years. Together they have a 2-year-old son, August Miklos. Speculation has been flying that she and Peter are expecting another baby, but at the very least she admits that they're trying.
Get better soon, Mariska. Those criminals need to get behind bars!
