George Anthony, the grandfather of slain toddler Caylee Anthony, was found in a Daytona Beach motel room after he was reported missing for several hours. Police told reporters that Anthony had sent text messages to family members indicating that he "wanted to end his life." He was found with a "five to six page suicide letter" although police said he had not tried to harm himself.
A spokeswoman for Daytona Beach hospital where Anthony was taken said he was in stable condition and was admitted for observation.
Anthony's daughter, Casey Anthony was previously charged with Caylee's murder. The two-year-old's body was found last December in the woods near where she had lived with her mother and grandparents.
As a parent I can understand the desire to protect your children, but I think this incident shows that George Anthony is having a hard time dealing with the truth of who killed his granddaughter.
