Okay, I'm a fan of Macy Gray's music, but half the time she looks like she's walking around mumbling and wearing her bathrobe. So it didn't surprise me when Page Six ran a tidbit about something the singer said about our new President.
"I'm in love with Barack Obama...I wanna get married - like, I wanna have his kids," Gray says on an episode of the upcoming series Head Case. "Why am I not Michelle, you know what I mean? Who the [bleep] is she? You know, why can't I be her?"
But now Macy is fighting back and throwing her bedroom slippers at Page Six, saying that her quotes were taken out of context and were part of a scripted show.
"I portray a character in the Starz comedy series Head Case, which is a produced show about a wacky psychiatrist who is wackier than her patients," she said in a statement. "My character admits that she thinks Obama is hot. It is innocent and funny."
She continued, "The quotes printed by Page Six were taken completely out of context and needs to be recognized that it is dialogue from a scripted television program. It's ridiculous."
"I respect and love our new president and his family just as you do and would never disrespect them in any way."
Thanks for clearing that up, Macy. But I don't want to be around when you hear the news that Michelle Obama is pregnant.
