Kate Beckinsale seems like a 'take charge' kind of woman, but not everything is as it seems. There are certain things that she'd rather someone else did for her. And the 35-year-old actress admits she finds comfort - in the backseat of a car.
Beckinsale, who is mom to Lily Mo, 9, refuses to learn how to drive and admits she loves being in the backseat of a car. She's never gotten her driver's license and believes if she did get behind the wheel, it would somehow take all the adventure out of the ride.
She says, as a teen, if she were upset, her mom would put her in the back of the family car and they'd drive for miles. Now, as a grown woman, she still finds being driven around comforting.
Kate said, "I love to be driven... When I was a teenager and I was miserable or things were difficult, my mom and I would pile into the car and she would drive me. I've always been really chilled by that.
"(Now) I take cabs or friends drive."
See, I can't imagine not being able to drive! I'd go crazy if I couldn't jump in my SUV and go for a spin, even to just get out of the house for a few minutes, because y'know, moms need a break too!
I guess whatever floats your boat.
