Hear that cacophonous crash? It's the sound of another actor entering politics! Val Kilmer is pondering running for governor of New Mexico in 2010, when Democrat Bill Richardson's second term ends.
"I'm just looking for ways to be contributive," Kilmer said in an interview on Thursday. "And if that ends up being where I can make a substantial contribution, then I'll run."
But don't start panicking quite yet. "It's really day to day," he reassured the world.
I wonder what Kilmer's kids, Mercedes and Jack, feel about their dad possibly running for governor? Judging by the spotlight that new First Daughters Sasha and Malia have been thrust into, it appears the kids of politicians are even more scrutinized than those of actors. One thing for sure: I'll bet they'll be bummed to leave behind dad's famous tree mansion for more conventional digs.
