I just heard today that she is receiving 148,000 a year in welfare!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that threatening to kill this woman is ridiculous but I DO NOT agree that we should have to pay for it.There is a huge chance that the tax payers money will pay for her irresponsible actions and I don't think that's fair. She had more children KNOWING she would need the state and goverments assistance.She shouldn't get anymore financial help. In a time like this, who would do that? I've never seen anyone so selfish.

I do NOT agree with what this woman has done, but I can't believe the public hysteria this going on because of this.  It's not like she's done something illegal.  There are people out there everyday who are molesting children and such - why not focus your time hating them instead!

I think this is terrible. This just proves that people have babies for money. Living off the welfare system to support children you shouldn't have. There are people with cancer who don't get help from the government but if you pop out a illegitimate child they'll cut you a check. Everyone should watch idocracy. Shes proof of this theory.

Even before she had her Web site, tons of people were donating stuff, mailing gifts to the hospital. I think that yes, most Americans are against what she did, but the babies are here now and we should all help her out.

My understanding is that she is of Iraqi descent, not Persian.  Her poor parents in all of this struggle and embarassment.  I couldn't help out grandchildren if I was in their shoes and I'm a lot younger.  God bless them all.  

I think she is stupid and irresponsible!!! She should have to give her kids away for adoption. People shouldn't have to pay for her stupid selfishness! And those poor kids! I think that her kids should be taken away and she should have to work the rest of her life to pay child support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

people keep forgetting what the real issue is. The very fact that she was able to get pregnant with 8 babies in the first place and the doctors that helped her do that.

The Suleman family's story is a eye opener for the way we treat fertility issues in North America - we need to learn from this story and make changes so that this type of thing doesn't happen again. I feel we should stop attacking this mother and her 14 very real children.

What she did is hard to swallow. She should not have 14 children! Come on now. Those babies do need to be taken care of but the point everyone is really trying to make is the whole thing is for money. money. money. Poor babies. Also where did she get the money to have the fertility treatment in the first place?

For a women who has no job and is single, she is doing well for herself.  I mean plastic surgery, going to a fertility clinic and having a special doctor (who is known for multiple pregenancies) imprenate her. She is a loser and is living off the government.The state of Cali is going to pay 1 mil for everything after it is said and done.  Take away her kids and put them up for adoption, their are plenty of needy parents out there. Please...The people of california should pay to get her tubes tied

Send NOTHING!!!! Why reward bad behavior & poor decision making? She can shop garage sales, thrift shops, the Salvation Army, etc. On her interview she stated that she was willing the drop everything for her kids & do the best she can! SHE MADE THIS DECISION THEREFORE SHE CAN DECIDE HOW TO HANDLE IT!!!!! She needs to deal with the consequences! I don't want to hear any sob stories about holiday/birthdays that are missing presents! As for the kids, well if things are too tough on the single mother of 14 she can opt to give up the children for adoption, to FINALLY define the meaning of being a PARENT and put the needs & well-being of the CHILDREN BEFORE HER OWN!!!!!

she deffinetly is having kids just for the attention and no one should have to help her with her finances except for her doctor since he went along with the ignorent idea.there is alot you can say nagativly about this women but why bring up race? saying "you can tell she's iranian" (quoted from kww)is crossing the line. if she was white or black would race be brought up?

  I think the doctor needs to be examined.   This was dangerous for a woman to carry 8 babies.    What would we be saying if her uterus ruptured and the mother and children died?    

I think we should pray for her healing.  Obviously something is wrong with her.  Criticism has done nothing at all and will not do anything but feed into this frenzy of bashing her.  Sure, what she did was irrational but she has 14 children now who have a lot of needs as all children do.  Nothing can change her past actions.  It's done. I agree w/ the poster who said let's take this situation to change the law or enact stricter guidelines for in vitro.

When people have too many dogs or cats as pets, animal welfare agents come and seize the animals and place them up for adoption. This is done so that the animal can have a good home, as people who hoard animals usually neglect them. Well, this woman reminds me of the pet hoarders, only she is hoarding HUMAN BABIES. It is not SAFE for her to be mothering eigth infants and 6 children, some with special needs, all by herself, for cryin out loud!! And if she has a nanny, or in this case, NANNIES...who pays for it????   WE DO!!! She needs help alright, psychiatric help.

And the indiviual babies/children need to go to homes where they can be raised by sane, loving parents. 2 of them.

I read that Nadya Suleman, infamous mother of octuplets, had received death threats on Thursday.  This was not surprising considering the hateful comments posted all over the internet.  I have to admit that she bothers me a lot more than would seem normal to me.  I have a rather laid-back attitude in general, and believe in the motto of “live and let live”, so I am rarely judgmental.  Therefore, I tried to analyze why this incident has raised my ire more than other atrocities.

I figured out that I am incensed about this particular nut job because she has crossed the line.  Actually several lines.  She’s unethical, immoral, and borderline criminal.  But these are crimes against humanity; not some law defined by the state or country.

1. She’s playing god with the innocent lives of 14 lab-created children, and that’s just the ones that have made it out of her womb.  How many children were created that did not survive her uterine obstacle course?  This is forcing medical ethicists to reevaluate abortion from a new perspective.

2. Octuplets would be a miracle and thing of awe if they were spontaneously generated.  However, she intentionally had six embryos implanted knowing that they could all live.  The odds of a successful pregnancy and delivery of all six fetuses without developmental problems is incredibly low, so by doing this, she essentially choose to have disabilities inflicted upon her children.  50% of her current brood already exhibit disabilities, and that was without having to share life support with seven othe

3. Then two of these embryos divided into twins.  Statistically, the chances of that happening naturally are estimated in ranges between one in 8 million and one in 500,000 million.  Those stats were culled from articles prior to this gross anomaly, and don’t take into consideration the freakish inclusion of 4 other siblings along with the quads.  So how did this happen?  I’m wondering if the obsessed mother didn’t overdose herself with fertility drugs to “improve” her chances.

4. Prior psychiatric analysis showed her to be emotionally unstable, with evidence of PTSD, depression and suicidal impulses.  The additional stress caused by such a large brood should have been adequate cause for a physician to decline to perform the IVF procedure.  Now we wait to see just what triggers the inevitable major depressive episode (the “meltdown”), and to see if what should have been common sense turns into another unwieldy law that might end up preventing any prospective parents from receiving IVF if they have a history of mental illness.  (The NIMH estimates that 26.2% of Americans ages 18 and older — about one in four adults — suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year).  

5. America’s initial negative reaction was to the audacity of having eight more children when she already had six, all through expensive IVF, with no means of support, an incomplete education, reliance on public assistance, obvious expensive plastic surgery and an obsession with Angelina Jolie.  This does not indicate a stable environment for those children.

6. Another thing that bugs me is that three of her older children receive disability payment for Autism, ADHD, and speech problems.  How?  When did these become qualifications for SSI?  NIMH reports that 9% of U.S. children have ADHD.  Are they all eligible for SSI?  I know an awful lot of parents that could use the financial assistance.

I truely believe that the Dr. should have to help pay for these babies and not the state.

If indeed Nadya went into hiding to avoid public indignation due to her irresponsible behavior of using her fertilized egg

as milk money she is putting in grave danger all of her 6 young children plus 8 babies who will soon be released from the hospital. These dangers not only include physical but

psychological as well. These are not good environments for her children to grow. She said that she had a "dysfunctional" childhood but this is what will happen exactly to all her 14 kids and it is manifesting itself right now. She has clearly no respect for her mother as

seen on their argument. She has no family values except for counting her eggs before they are hatched. This a woman who needed to be rescued from herself. By doing so we can and only then we can rescue all 14 children.  

I CAN'T BELIEVE "SHE JUST WANTS TO BE LEFT ALONE AND ALL THE ATTENTION TO GO AWAY"!  WHAT DID SHE EXPECT WHEN SHE FOUND OUT SHE WAS CARRYING MULTIPLE BABIES;  A PARAGRAPH ON PAGE SIX OF HER LOCAL NEWSPAPER.  SHE IS A MEDIA WHORE AND DUE TO HER IRRESPONSIBLE, SELFISH "NEED" THE OVERWORKED, OVERTAXED TAX PAYING PERSON HAS TO STEP UP AND PAY FOR HER DESIRE AND NEED TO PARENT!  WHERE IS THE "SPERM DONOR"?  LET HIM, HER AND THE IDIOT DR. PAY FOR THESE BABIES.  SHE SHOULD HAVE HER CHILDREN TAKEN AWAY;  ALL FOURTEEN OF THEM AND ADOPTED OUT TO LOVING TWO PARENT HOMES WHERE THEY CAN LIVE THEIR LIVES THE WAY GOD INTENDED.  SHE CAN'T NOW OR APPARENTLY EVER SUPPORT AND CARE FOR ANY OF HER CHILDREN WITHOUT THE PUBLIC'S ASSISTANCE.  IS SHE GOING TO PULL THIS STUNT AGAIN IN A COUPLE OF YEARS?  WHAT ABOUT THE MESSAGE SHE HAS SENT OUT TO ANOTHER UNSTABLE PERSON WITH THIS "NEED"?  YOUR OVERWORKED STRUGGLING AVERAGE PERSON IS SICK TO DEATH OF THIS WOMAN.  I DON'T WISH YOU ANY HARM;  JUST STEP UP NOW AND DO THE RIGHT THING;  PLACE ALL FOURTEEN OF THESE CHILDREN UP FOR ADOPTION;  GET YOUR EDUCATION AND TRY CONTRIBUTING TO SOCIETY INSTEAD OF TAKING WHATEVER YOU CAN GET FOR NOTHING FROM US!  YOU MAKE ME SICK.

I wish people would get off the whole Angelina Jolie comparison!!!!!  The actress has only been pregnant twice (with a partner who is involved in ALL the children's lives) and adopted 3 children.  The actress's decision to become a Mother was made after she had a few successful acting gigs under her belt.  It's like comparing apples to rotten fruit, there's a HUGE difference!!!!

so all of are aying that if i want to have one more baby from my actual husban who dosen't have one, only becouse i have four more that makes me  stuped and irresponsible? I work and make arround 200,000.00 a year only becouse i make money that will put me i a better position? or all of you are really doing thouse coments becouse you are worry about the children welfare or becouse at the end you belive you will pay for their education and suppor? i will said if you don't make more them 50,000.00 a year and single some way you are getting help from the sistem don't you think?
