Harry Connick Jr. Wants His Daughters To Give Back

Posted by trix

Harry Connick Jr. thinks it's important for his daughters to learn about the important things in life.

What are some of those things? He wants them to know what it is and feels like to help people and that it is important for them to do it. He says, “I think it’s important for my kids to know that you help people. You do what you’re supposed to do. Do your work and help people, that’s all you can do.”

He also says it's important for his daughters to know that he is there for them without being intrusive, when it comes to their boyfriends. His oldest daughter Georgia has started dating at the age of 12. Twelve years old seems so young to be dating.

I don't know about you but when I was 12 I didn't hadn't even started shaving my legs yet, let alone thinking about dating.

He has yet to flex his dad muscles, because Georgia picked a winner for her first boyfriend.

Well, bully for her. Still 12 years old, there is no way my daughter would be dating, if I had one that is.

oh please, I was shaving by grade 6 (12 years old) and had a "boyfriend". Look at the way his daughter is dressed, she looks conservative, appropriate for her age. I don't think there is anything wrong with a 12 year old dating, if you can even call it that at her age.

Besides flexing your parental muscles at that pre teen stage has the tendency to backfire, or so I've heard.

Ah yes, My parents did like to flex their muscles so no shaving, no makeup, hairspray or boyfriends. But considering the fact that I was 12 over 20 years ago in my mind makes it okay. I think I would just have a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that my daughter wanted to date at a young age. It's just not the way I was raised.

It takes all kinds to make the world go round. If we were all the same, it wouldn't be any fun.
