Lance Armstrong didn't reenter the biking arena without some serious contemplation. He took into deep consideration his children - Luke, 9, and twins Isabelle and Grace, 7. Refusing to sacrifice the time with his children, he says, "My schedule this year pretty much revolves around my kids' schedule."
Lance says, too, that ex-wife Kristin Richards Armstrong deserves a lot of credit for making his return to cycling work out. "Kristin has been the real hero and very helpful to me, quite understanding on this comeback," he says.
"It’s not optimal that I fly from here back home for five days before the Tour of California," Lance continues. "That’s the schedule Kristin and I have set out and the kids want to see their old man. I will always travel back and forth to have quality time with my kids. That’s what we’ll do this week and so all that will stay the same as it was the first time."
It's now a tradition that Lance's kids are there for the Tour de France, watching their dad. That'll continue this July, and that includes his baby-to-be, which is due with girlfriend Anna Hansen in June. Lance says, "He or she will be at the Tour, for sure."
Like him or not, you can't deny that Lance is one bad dude when it comes to hitting that bike in France. If it weren't for him, I doubt anyone would even watch.
