The first three contestants to make it to the coveted top 12 spots on American Idol were announced last night. The sole female was 21-year-old Alexis Grace, a single mom from Memphis, Tennessee. Grace sang "Never Loved A Man" for her solo performance on Tuesday night, and apparently America loved it - they voted her into the top 12 along with Danny Gokey and Michael Sarver.
Grace, who has been singing since she was seven, gave birth at 19 to daughter Ryan Elizabeth. She calls her little girl a "gift from God" and credits her with motivating her to audition for Idol.
Will she make it to the top? Something tells me she will - It takes a lot of determination for someone so young to make it this far, and Grace has done it while parenting a toddler. Now that's multi-tasking.
