What is wrong with Nadya Suleman? She was offered round-the-clock nursing care for her fourteen kids and a home for her entire family to live in, by nonprofit group Angels in Waiting, and she turned them down. What? Someone explain this woman's thinking to me, please.
Nadya told Dr. Phil that Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center officials probably won't release her babies unless she could prove to them she had a safe home for the children and could satisfy them of her ability to properly care for the preemies, so why not take what was offered to her? I'm sure hospital officials would be confident to hand those precious babies to her, knowing she had housing and childcare in place!
The offer from Angels in Waiting, a group represented by attorney Gloria Allred, was made two weeks ago to Suleman and she had until midnight Thursday, February 26, to accept or reject. She rejected. That makes sense - I mean Suleman is unemployed, her disability money has run out, she's living in a house that the bank is foreclosing in a few days, she has no life partner to help with the children, she stretches her parents to the breaking point, relying on them to care for her older children - so yes, turn down an offer for help, Nadya, makes perfect sense.
Allred said that Suleman spoke with Linda West-Conforti, Angels in Waiting founder, and it appeared to her, that Nadya was more interested in "capitalizing on her infants," and doing a reality TV show. Good to know Nadya is putting her children first.
According to Allred, "Linda explained to her that Angels in Waiting would not agree to that [a TV show] because of their concern for possible infections that the infants might incur with camera equipment and many other people in the home in addition to the many professionals who would be with the children providing the care. Linda did not wish to risk the health of the little ones."
So, strangers are thinking of the health of the babies, but their own mother is still hell-bent on exploiting them. Super. And this woman wonders why the public is so against her?
