Why Should She Be Famous?

Posted by trix

This woman isn't necessarily a celebrity mom in her own right, but she should be. We need to be talking about her and her situation rather than Nadya Suleman.

Rachel Joy was 36 weeks pregnant went she went to the hospital complaining of chest pains. The doctors, being doctors, sent her home because they thought the chest pains were the after effects of a cough she had suffered.

That sounds pretty normal for a pregnancy in it's late stages, it could have been a little indigestion.

Rachel went back to the hospital later the same night, coughing up blood and it was found that she had a very rare and dangerous heart condition, Aortic Dissection. She could be dead within 24 to 48 hours if left untreated.

Next thing she knew, she was in an operating room having a c-section, because this may be the only child she ever had. She only had a 25% chance of surviving the operation.

The doctors performed the c-section and as soon as the baby was removed, they started in on her heart. The doctors hadn't even finished sewing her up from the c-section yet and started on the necessary 10 hour surgery for her heart.

Happily, everything turned out for the best and mom and son, Charlie, we're reunited after her recovery.

My own birth story was eventful, but Rachel Joy will always win in. Is your birth story crazy or easy peasy?
