Michael J. Fox is Positive

Posted by Whit Honea

Michael J. Fox still holds a soft spot in my heart for his role of Alex P. Keaton back in the day, and since then he's done pretty well for himself.

Fox, a father of four, may best be known recently for his battle with Parkinson's disease.  He has been very vocal in finding a cure and pushing for stem cell research.

Through it all Fox has remained, at least publicly, very upbeat and positive. I can't help but think his four kids have helped in that department.

This May Michael J. Fox will be starring in a new ABC program that has feel good tear-jerker written all over it, "Michael J. Fox: Adventures of an Incurable Optimist" in which he will travel the world to share his positive outlook to those that are suffering.

Should be good.  Good luck, Michael!

I have so much respect for Michael J. Fox and his family.  I'm of that generation (born 1963) and I'm starting over in life just months away from graduating from my second college experience and begin a whole new career. As a student of cognitive neuroscience I have acquired a new depth of understanding about how various neurological conditions, like Parkinson's, affect the people who suffer from them. I hope to go into neuroscience research as I pursue my master's degree.  Hopefully, progress can move forward with stem cell research now that we have a new administration.  I marvel at the  courageous, talented, truly lovable, and honorable person Mr. Fox is. Can't wait to see the program on ABC!
