The patriarch of the Winans family, David "Pop" Winans, has died at the age of 76 after suffering a recent heart attack and stroke.
David Winans was the father of BeBe and CeCe Winans who performed together and Michael, Marvin, Carvin and Ronald who performed as The Winans. All together the Winans had ten children and nine grandchildren.
Pop and his wife Mom were regulars on the Trinity Broadcasting Network.
In a released statement the family said: "The Winans family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and continued support, but would appreciate privacy at this time."
Services will be held Tuesday and Wednesday in Detroit.
