Michelle Obama's like a Supermom. Just after she gets back from touring all over Europe, she's already tackling the White House dog issue, the White House Easter Egg Roll, and getting down and dirty with the much-anticipated White House Garden.
Michelle held court out on the White House lawn decked out in her gardening gloves and all, as she taught a group of school children the virtues of growing your own spinach, lettuce, herbs, fruits, and veggies. I wonder if she enlisted Malia and Sasha to help dig up the garden and get it ready to plant. I would.
When she asked the kids how much they thought it cost to plant the WH garden, a little boy guessed $100,000. To which Michelle replied: "My husband would go crazy if he thought we were spending that kind of
money...It's between $100 and $200. So it's not a lot of money."
According to her, the garden was the hot topic while she visited with world leaders abroad. Back in the States, I gotta say there seems to be a lot more anticipation about what dog the Obamas will get. Hey, we're a nation of dog lovers. Or, maybe we just don't really care enough about sustainable gardening. Whatevs.
