David Caruso, star of CSI Miami, has been slapped with a lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend and mother of his two youngest children, Liza Marquez. Marquez claims the TV actor inflicted emotional distress, raised his hand to her while she was pregnant and that Caruso breached their agreement that he would support her. He denies all such allegations.
Marquez filed court papers last week filled with "bombshell" allegations. Besides the claims of emotional and physical harm, Liza says David has a collection of 70s porn, wanted her to abort her first pregnancy, accused her of wanting to sleep with other people and told friends she was mentally ill. Well, I don't know if she is or not, but we all know Caruso attracts the crazies.
Caruso, through his rep, has issued a statement, denying it all.
"Last month David became concerned about the welfare of his children and sought court assistance to redefine David's and Liza's custodial schedules. It now appears that Liza has decided to retaliate by raising false claims against David, which David finds unfortunate since these claims will divert the parties' and the court's attention away from the best interests of the children."
David and Liza began dating in 2004, and are parents to Marquez Anthony, 3 1/2, and Paloma Raquel, 18 months. They split shortly after Paloma's birth and David cited, through his attorney, "reconciliation is not an option." Caruso is also dad to daughter Greta, 24. He currently lives in Los Angeles and Miami with girlfriend Amina Tyrone, an aspiring actress.
I hope the allegations are not true. Let's also keep our fingers crossed the best interests of the kids are put first.
