Jamie Foxx's Apology to Miley - Too Little Too Late?

Jamie Foxx apologized to Miley Cyrus on Tuesday night's edition of the "Tonight Show". 

His apology:

I so apologize to [Cyrus], and this is sincere, I am a comedian, and you guys know that whatever I say, I don't mean any of it.  And sometimes, as comedians, as we do, we go a little bit too far.

"I have a radio show...We're really the black Howard Stern. We go at everybody. There was a situation with Miley Cyrus, and I just want to say, I apologize for what I said. I didn't mean it maliciously. You know I'm a comedian. You know my heart."

Then he looked at the camera, "Miley, I apologize, so I'll call you. I got a daughter too, so I completely understand."

Do you think that was enough? Should he call her and apologize "face to face"?

I'm not sure he should have gone as far as "The Black Howard Stern". Jamie Foxx doesn't have THAT big of a radio career. Granted, I'm pretty sure most people that aren't Stern fans can say that the Stern Show has fallen off in its old age, but that's a pretty bold statement.

Regardless, he is an entertainer, he does get paid to say things that rile people up, and entertain other people. It's his job.

As far as the "face to face" apology, truthfully, the time between the statements Foxx made, and his public apology should have been used more wisely by the Cyrus camp. If Miley was so up in arms about him saying all those things about her, then she should have gotten on the horn herself and called him out on it and talked to him about it. If Senior Bill Ray was so angry about it, maybe he could have done the same. Conference call! Heeeyyy, we're onto something here. In that case, the Cyrus' could have come to the public and said "Hey, we resolved it. Over and done." and it wouldn't have been dragged out as it were. Jeeze man. Is that such a hard concept to grasp?
