I guess even Wolverine is no match for a looming pandemic. Twentieth Century Fox has decided to postpone Wednesday's Mexico City premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine due to the growing concerns over the swine flu virus that has virtually paralyzed that city. Says a rep for the studio:
"We were not only concerned about Hugh's welfare – and we would never send anyone into harm's way – but we also have an enormous office filled with people we care about. There was no point in proceeding under the current conditions.
"There is a possibility it could be rescheduled. Hugh is obviously beloved [there] so we'll see what happens. We'll monitor the situation."
Probably a wise decision, as I've heard that Hugh often travels with his whole family in tow and I'm sure that there is concern that he and other cast members could possibly put their kids and family members at risk.
Me, I'll be seeing Wolverine with a face mask and purse full of hand sanitizer.
