I think this is just the heartbreaking thing I've heard in a while. Natascha McElhone, in a recent interview, revealed the reason she decided to be alone during the birth of her third child.
"If Martin couldn’t be there, I couldn’t replace him with someone, as that would have felt very strange. I wanted to be on my own because that was the way it was going to be. I was going to be my baby’s only parent so I may as well get used to it."
The whole interview is just heartbreaking, I think I had tears in my eyes after the first couple of paragraphs. I really feel for her, but really I think that it's great that she talks about it and keeps the memory of her husband alive for her boys.
