After all the hoopla surrounding Jon and Kate Gosselin from Jon & Kate Plus 8 TV fame, the only person talking now, is Kate. She's taken a break from her Eight Little Faces book tour and made the talk show rounds, discussing (sort of) the cheating allegations. Most of this is about Jon, so why is he not by her side?

Kate spoke with TODAY's Meredith Vieira on Thursday, and here is a quick run-down of what she said about the cheating claims:
"We just need to weather this storm, just like all the other storms that we’ve been through.
"It is so public. It’s one of the things we did not envision when we started our show, said Kate. "It’s one of the things that comes with it — the tabloid stuff. To be very honest, I’m very hesitant to believe any of it. It comes with the territory. We’re dealing with it just like everybody else does."
Jon was set to appear with his wife, but they felt it would be better if he stayed home with their children. He did release a statement:
"These allegations are false and just plain hurtful. As I adjust to the attention that comes from being in the public eye, I need to be more careful and aware of who I am associating with and where I am spending my time. But the bottom line is, I did not cheat on Kate. I am sorry for putting my family in this awkward position, given some poor decisions and bad judgments I've made recently. I am working through this difficult time with my family. My family is my top priority."
Kate said she doesn't pay much attention to tabloid reports.
"You have to remember, take it with a grain of salt. Tabloids pay thousands of dollars for stories. The juicier the story, the more the payment. When you pick up those sort of magazines, is it believable? Ask yourself. People are being paid to talk."
Will Jon and Kate address what's happened when their reality show starts the new season?
"We’re dealing with it privately. It’s kind of ironic to say that, because we do have a reality show. People see the good, the bad and the ugly. But there are those things that we keep to ourselves. And we’re working through it together, and that’s the important thing.
"I’m not going to sit here and say I enjoy it,” she said. "I tend to be very thick-skinned. We all know that. It’s hurtful for the sake of my children, looking through their eyes, seeing the things that are out there. It’s absolutely not a bit enjoyable. But we’re learning as we go along. I’m really focusing on our kids. Everything I do is for them."
The mom of eight said the tabloid gossip won't stop them from living their lives.
"We are living our lives, whether in the public eye or not. We’ve always said, 'Come along, capture what you can, it’s the realest reality show that there is, and come along for the ride.' It’s been very encouraging to us to see how people have found us inspiring, and we’re not perfect. I’m the first one to say it."
It's a good thing their kids are still too young to be surfing the Internet or reading gossip mags.
