Holy Crap, did you know that Jon and Kate earn $75,000 per episode. We're taking a 40 episode season, that's crazy. That is some serious money, something like $3,000,000 per "season".
Despite the fact that they are earning more money per show than an average family of four makes in a year, Jon is flat broke.
Does he have wild spending habits? Did he empty his 401k to buy his alleged mistress expensive gifts?
He had to empty his 401k to survive. Now, I don't know if that means that he had to use it to pay the bills or buy his kids food, but the fact that he felt he had to use it, is telling.
According to Kate's family, she's all about the money. She has such a tight grip on the finances, there isn't any slipping through her fingers for things that aren't on her list.
She raking in the dough out of the home too. She has her book, 8 Little Faces, that she is promoting right now, and she'll be out again in October promoting her cookbook. She charges fans $20.00 for an autograph and $150.00 per person for special tea party meet and greets. She also commands $3,000 per hour for speaking engagements.
She spends all this time away from home, doing this extraneous stuff, but has such a tight fist on the money coming in, that she's let it take over and it's now her number 1 priority.
All this info came from her family so, even if you filter out the B.S., you figure that at least half of this info is true. If you watch and think Kate is a big meanie and treats her husband like crap, then all of it is true. If you think Kate can do now wrong and think I'm awful for printing this than none of it is true. Take your pick.
I'm inclined to believe it's true. My one hope is that the kids can take the best of each parent and learn from it.
