Just when you thought that Western Civilization couldn't decline any more quickly: Dina Lohan, the woman who bore Lindsay and mother figure to drunk tarts everywhere, is in talks with E! network to star in her own reality show. It's tentatively titled 'Mom-ager,' and will concern itself with Mama Lohan's efforts to turn her two younger children (Ali, 14, and Cody, 11) into coke-snorting fame whores stars.
One is tempted to just slam Dina Lohan all over the place for making Macauley Culkin's dad look like a contender for Father of the Year, but that would be too easy. If fame is the drug, why is a network like E! pushing it to one of the most addled addicts on the block, and her kids? I said the other day that Hollywood shouldn't be blamed for the corruption of the children in its midst, that it was the parents who should bear responsibility, but I'm taking that back. Parents should be responsible for not turning their children into fame whores, but shouldn't the entertainment industry do its part to not encourage kid pimpage by the likes of the Dina Lohans of the world?
Whatever happened to stage-moms like Shirley Partridge? Or was she the one selling to crack to Danny Bonaduce?
It would be funny if it weren't just so, so scary.
