You'll never catch Gwen Stefani at Costco without her lipstick on. While I wouldn't give a second thought to taking a trip to the market looking like I just rolled out of bed, the Harajuku Lover says she always leaves the house fully made-up, despite having 1-year old son Kingston to contend with. But she does take some flak for it. "Everyone has criticized me for wearing too much make-up but I've also made a career out of it!"
Stefani's passion for pancake started in her childhood. "I was always the girl who, after school every day, would say, 'Ask
your mom if we can play with her make-up! And then we'd do that for
about four hours! I would burn everybody with the curling iron, I'd do
make-overs on everyone." Unlike Gwen, while I remember playing 'make-up' with my friends after school, my little hobby never led to a recording contract or international stardom. Must have been that cheap Avon crap I was using.
As if pleasing her fans weren't enough, Stefani tries to please her husband, rocker Gavin Rossdale, too. "My make-up must have is my lipstick. It's what my husband likes me in and I definitely try to please him!"
Note to my husband: Don't get any ideas.
