During
the SNL skit that was the Vice Presidential Debate last night one
moment jumped out as one of pure truth and sincerity. I know, we're
not used to such things in politics, but it was there and it was
touching.
Some background: Joe Biden's first wife and his young
daughter were killed in a tragic accident in the early 70's. His two
surving children were in very serious condition. Biden was literally
sworn into his seat in the U.S. Senate while standing at the hospital
bedside of his injured sons. Regardless of your politics that is
undisputed and utter sadness.
