So, America! You went and got yourselves a new president! Which: AWESOME.
It's
awesome not because you made the right choice (although, for the
record, I do think that you did make the right choice) but because,
yesterday, you clearly demonstrated why democracy is worth fighting
for: it allows people to passionately pursue, in the realm of politics,
what they believe in. Maybe that pursuit comes in the form of running
for office, maybe it comes in the form of standing in line for hours to
vote, but whatever the form, it is a wonderful thing, and awesome to
behold. You have set an amazing example for your children, and taught
them an invaluable lesson: politics is, and must be, for everyone.
So congratulations to you, America. This Canadian thinks you done good. BE PROUD.
