Let
me say that while I wouldn't want my children listening to a lot of the
lyrics popular in rap music today, those filled with the glorification
of violence and the degrading of women, I don't believe in censorship.
I'm more of a believer in being an active parent. Sure, Ja Rule is
promoting and profiting from the pushing of stereotypes and ignorance,
but hey, if there's a market, more power to him. I'll just try to teach
my boys to take such messages with a grain of salt and to always do the
right thing.
I do have a problem, however, with Ja Rule fighting
for his rights by striking against the rights of others. Doesn't he
know that two wrongs don't make a right?
