New Mighty Ducks Hatched!

Not one, but two(2) of the Anaheim Ducks welcomed new babies last week- on the same day!

Both Todd Marchant and his wife Caroline, and Francois Beauchemin and his wife Marie, welcomed sons on Monday- an off day between NHL playoff games. Now that's timing.

Congrats to the Ducks!

NHL's Chris Kunitz Is A Daddy

Wednesday morning, Pittsburgh Penguin Chris Kunitz had a tough decision to make, hang out with his wife and newborn baby boy while they recover from the process of labor. Or, take the ice with the Penguins to kickoff the quarterfinals series against the Philadelphia Flyers.

“Leading up to it, I wasn’t sure [if I would play]. I just waited to see how my wife felt and to talk it over, make sure the baby was okay and all that kind of stuff.”

In true hockey player fashion, Chris took the ice to help his team win game one. Hopefully, his son Zachary James Kunitz won't be scarred for life over the deal. The fact that his wife would even let him consider playing in that night's game shows that she's got an extremely high level of understanding.

Assuming that Zachary will no doubt be immersed in the religion that is hockey from birth, I imagine he'll understand. If the Penguins had lost though, it would be a lot harder to live it down.

Miley Cyrus' Sweet 16: We Partied Like It Was 2008

I took my two daughters to Miley Cyrus' Sweet 16 party at Disneyland last night. I'm deaf now because of all the screaming, but my girls told me in sign language that they had an awesome time.

That Miley knows how to throw a party. Disney estimates that over 5,000 people attended the soiree, which cost $250 a ticket and featured a short concert by Miley and her dad Billy Ray. Celebrity guests included Steve Carell, Tyra Banks, Cindy Crawford and David Archuleta. We saw all of them during the 'purple carpet' arrivals, but didn't see any of them roaming the park. I was disappointed, since I was looking forward to sitting real close to Carell on the Jungle Cruise and pretending he and I were on our honeymoon.

Miley's new boyfriend Justin Gaston joined Billy Ray on stage for a performance of "Achy Breaky Heart," and Billy Ray introduced him as "a family friend." I guess this means Justin gets the Cyrus stamp of approval; I remember my dad always introducing my boyfriends as "the bastard that's dating my daughter."

The evening ended with a huge fireworks display and the entire crowd singing Happy Birthday to Miley. It was almost 11:30pm by this point, though, so my two daughters were pretty much laying flat on their backs on Main Street asking for pillows. But still - Disneyland on a school night? They're the envy of all their friends. Like I said, that Miley knows how to throw a party.

Juanes and Family at Disneyland

This picture has been sitting on my desktop forever. I kept thinking that I'd take a minute and actually find out something about Juanes. Sure, I'd heard of him, but to be honest, I don't know a thing about him.

Then I realized that everything I need to know about Juanes is in this picture:

He loves his family. He has a hot wife and two cute little girls (Luna and Paloma).
He likes Disneyland.
He likes the Beatles.

This is all I need to know about the man. His music might be brilliant or it might stink. I don't care. He's covered the big three and he's okay with me.

Melissa Joan Hart Celebrates Birthday the Disney Way

Melissa Joan Hart, you just turned 32! What are you going to do now?

I guess the picture gives it away, doesn't it? Melissa and her husband Mark Wilkerson took the boys, Mason and Braydon, to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, for a bit of birthday frivolity.

I'm glad to see that my wife and I aren't the only people that take our families to Disneyland to celebrate adult (and kid) birthdays and anniversaries, at least until the kids get fake ID's.

Kate Moss Shows Baby Bump: Goes to Disneyland

This is Kate Moss with her daughter and friends at Disneyland. You know, the happiest place on Earth. I just got back from Disneyland. We were there for DAYS. It was a blast and while I saw lots of really attractive moms I didn't see this one. To be honest, considering the competition, I'm not sure Kate would have even caught my sunglass-hidden wandering eye. Her shirt (it's the Superman insignia), on the other hand, may have pulled my attention.

Why, do you ask, was Kate at Disneyland? Obviously she was just doing what every other great player does after their moment in the limelight. Turns out that she had just shown the world the baby bump. It ain't small.

Ed Burns and Christy Turlington at Disneyland

I don't care what anyone says, I really like Ed Burns and his movies. I also really like Christy Turlington, but for different reasons.

Throw in the happiest place on Earth and you've got yourself a family outing. That's Finn running to the mouse and Grace in the background.

I love Disneyland.

Jennie Garth is a Home Wrecker: Mickey Mouse Steps Out on Minnie

Jennie Garth has her eye on the prize and his name is M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E! The Dancing With the Stars star and Disney's main ~~man~~ mouse cut the proverbial rug, or tile as the case may be, at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA.

I'm sure Minnie is okay with it. Her and Mickey have a very secure relationship.

FYI, notice the Christmas decorations in the background. If you haven't seen Disneyland at Xmas, you haven't seen Disneyland. It rules.

Gwen Stefani is a Nice Lady

Hey! Come back! I'm not being sarcastic - for once. She really is a nice lady. Gwen Stefani, who grew up in Southern California, is donating all the proceeds from her October 30 concert in San Diego to benefit victims of the recent wildfires that devastated the area. Stefani said she considered canceling the show out of respect for the victims, "but then it occurred to me there might be a more useful solution." This makes me want to go buy her record at the store, instead of downloading it for free off the internet.

Right after I finished writing this post I saw this article, revealing recently released documents that show Britney Spears has an average monthly income of $737,868 and spends $16,000 of it on clothes and $102,000 on entertainment, gifts and vacations. There's a moral to this story in here somewhere.
