Little Bob Irwin is a chip off the old crocodile hunting block. Mom Terri Irwin says, "He's a little Steve clone." The 4-year-old son of Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin is already wrestling crocodiles and filming TV segments. He wants his own TV show, in fact, and has already filmed a segment for 60 Minutes. He doesn't want to be part of sister Bindi's show...he wants his OWN. At 4.

Terri insists that her kids have a "normal childhood," though. Yeah, because normal kids are screwing with crocodiles and doing TV shows. Hell, by the time I was 10, I had a half dozen shows under my belt. *cough*

Jungle Girl Honors Her Daddy

Bindi Irwin, the Jungle girl, and her family recently paid tribute to her late father Steve Irwin.

On a visit to Southern Australia, Bindi, her mother Terri and brother Bob, visited the Adelaide Botanical gardens and named a special Gum tree after the late environmentalist Steve Irwin.

The family visited several Southern Australia local tourist attractions, including Adelaide Zoo, while on a four day trip to the area. Terri is in South Australia to speak at the Environment and Heritage Department's Stirring the Possum environment forum tomorrow night and extended their stay to enjoy the sights.

She truly was (is) her daddy's little girl.

I'm guessing by this picture that her mother Terri Irwin wasn't eligible. Crikey!

Please, parents. I beg you. DO NOT buy this doll for your children. It will come alive in the night and reprogram all of your electronics while shrieking CRIKEY! CRIKEY! before pillaging the kitchen drawers for a butcher knife and killing the family dog.

Just don't do it. Stick to Barbie. She'll just rifle through your shoe closet, and maybe try on your lipstick. Nothing to be afraid of, unless malproportioned plastic tits freak you out.

I just don't know what to think of Bindi Irwin. She's, like, totally adorable, of course, and the loss of her father was heartbreaking, but am I the only one who thinks that she might be teetering just a leetle too closely to the edge of overexposure? If all the appearances and performances and clothing line and videos and talk of movie offers weren't enough to qualify her for the Lindsay/Britney Pre-Trainwreck Training School For Girls, the fact that she's released a hip-hop single and now has her own troupe of gay back-up dancers would probably suffice.

And her recent performance on The Today Show doing the white-girl rap with said dancers would likely get her early admission, no questions asked. (See video here.)

Sample lyric: "I'm afraid of grizzly bears/ But don't you see/ Grizzly bears should be afraid of me." No, sweetie. Afraid for you.

Bindi Irwin Declines Movie Offers From Hollywood

Bindi Irwin has her own clothing line, TV show, exercise tape (what?) and now, an offer for a movie deal. This 8 year old is nothing short of amazing and is doing a great job of carrying on in her father's footsteps. While critics say she is doing too much for her young age, she is loving it and keeps her mission in mind: “I’m just being me,” she told TODAY’s Al Roker on Wednesday. “And it’s really nice to get that wildlife conservation message out.”

Bindi was coy when asked about the movie deal: “That’s the rumor,” Irwin told Roker. “We pass everything on to our producer and tell him, whatever comes along, be very appreciative and say, ‘No.’

“I really heard it’s all about my mum and my little brother, Robert, and animals,” she offered. It sounded as though she was interested in doing a movie and that "No" could turn into "Yes." The Sydney papers are reporting a "No" at this time however.

Mom Terri was asked how she keeps Bindi grounded in light of all this attention. Turns out Bindi gets that humble pie from her Dad. “She’s so much like him. She’s tough on the outside and tender on the inside,” she told Roker. “She’s got a real empathy for all wildlife, and I think it’s really important now that we realize that humanitarian issues are so intrinsically linked with our environment. Bindi’s bringing that message to a whole new generation.”

Keri Russell Dishes on Family Life

It seems Keri Russell is one happy mama. In a lengthy interview with USA Today, Keri talks about her appreciation for the little things.

Russell finds cleaning her house to be "therapuetic," buys her own clothes and totes a white cotton bag with "Certified Organic Mom" emblazened on it, instead of a designer purse.

Unlike a lot of celebs, Russell does not emply a nanny: "I want to raise my kid. I was totally being a martyr at first, thinking I could totally do it on my own. And I did, for a while," until a few weeks ago when she hired her first sitter and I rolled my eyes when I had to report that as news.

She concluded her interview with a quickie statement: "As much as I don't regret my life," (as an actress growing up in front of cameras) she says, "I value so much being at home for dinner with my family."

Keri Russell Visits Yappy Birds

Last week, I guess Keri Russell visited those nattering hags that make up The View. I was on a beach in a country that doesn't care about American celebrities but Whit told me so I have to believe him.

Russell spoke of her labour with baby River, garnering huge sympathy from the clucking hens when it was revealed that said labour was 38 hours. I have no idea what was mostly said and neither does anyone else because they all never. stop. talking. over. each. other. If I was the boss of the hot mess that is The View, I would change the cast to all men and talk sports. And by all men, I do not mean Rosie O'Donnell, for once.

When asked by Sherri Shepard how she lost all the baby weight so quickly, Russell responded, “I would love to say I worked out every day. But it’s truly genetics. You have what you have, and then you work hard or you don’t. And I…It was genetics.” Oh boy, here we go again. Go Leafs Go!

Keri Russell's Huge Panic, World Stops on It's Axis

Keri Russell recently told press that she *gasp* left her 4 month old with a *gasp* babysitter! Further to that, she says *gasp* "It's crazy — you kind of panic."

Crazy indeed. It's right up there with *gasp* feeding wild aligators, *gasp* curing diabeties,or *gasp* letting strange men snort cocaine off your chest. Next thing we know, Keri will *gasp* starting feeding her baby *gasp* solid foods or letting *gasp* Dog the Bounty Hunter watch her kid! *GASP*

Now, where is my freaking inhaler? I can't take this excitement.

Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin's Legacy Lives On In Widow's Book

Terri Irwin has painstakingly written a book about her late husband, the beloved Crocodile Hunter.

"I felt kind of compelled to do something so that people could sit down and understand Steve better and where he came from and what we stood for and what we tried to achieve," she told the Associated Press.

"I'd been so kind of self-absorbed with my own sadness that I hadn't really thought about everybody else ... so I thought maybe a book would help people to come to know the human side of Steve."

Steve Irwin died at age 44 Sept. 4, 2006, when a stingray's barbed tail punctured his chest and heart on Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

Terri began writing "Steve and Me: Life With the Crocodile Hunter," entitled "My Steve" last year while embarking on other wildlife projects with her kids.

"I spent months on end crying and crying and crying; remembering the hard times was hard and remembering the good times was hard," she said. "For me personally, it's that one day at a time feeling and I've chosen to continue as if Steve was still here," Irwin said. "I really believe if anyone thought of Steve as a hero, everything he lived for and believed in must continue."

Regarding the kid's grief, "They ebb and flow, just like I do," she said. Daughter Bindi is 9, and Robert turns 4 in December. The conversation about the kids triggered tears. She then began to cry. "Don't even pause, I do this all the time," she said through her tears."

"Bindi gets emotional regularly but not frequently and I'm really proud that they're coping. I think that's a point of pride that Steve was so good about - exposing them to the cycle of life in the zoo."

Regarding allegations of exploitation of Bindi:

"But I find that with Bindi's lack of fear of wildlife and lack of fear of public speaking, I have made an empowered woman who whatever choice she decides to make in life after she's 18, ... she's got the tools to do it."

Bindi won the Australian Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Award for Favorite Aussie last month. She certainly is taking over as the family wildlife advocate.

I've never lost anyone that close to me, so I can't imagine how difficult it would be to grieve, much less in the public eye and under such scrunity. I hope this book gave Terri some strength to get through this difficult time in her lives.

The guy's a strict vegetarian so I won't make any 'Shrimp on the barbie' jokes here. Plus, well, he's the Dalai Lama.

The spiritual leader of the world's Tibetan and Mongolian Buddhists visited Australia Zoo and thanked the family of the late "Crocodile Hunter," Steve Irwin, for their dedication to wildlife. He addressed a sold-out crowd and spoke about topics ranging from the benefits of vegetarianism to the indifference of companies and organizations in regards to animal testing.

Bindi Irwin, the 8-year-old daughter of the late Steve Irwin, met the Dalai Lama on stage on Wednesday. She was hugging a koala.

In unrelated news, Paris Hilton, the 26-year-old daughter of Kathy and Rick HIlton, met her lawyer in a jail cell on Wednesday. There were no koalas present.

Croc Hunter's 8-Year Old Daughter Apparently Only Young Celebrity Not In Rehab

Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, is not headed to jail, entering Promises or being treated for an eating disorder. Instead, she's carrying on her father's legacy in her own TV show, 'Bindi: The Jungle Girl' that will soon debut on the Discovery Kids Channel. Crikey! Where did her parents go wrong?

I admit to not being a close follower of Steve Irwin's career. In fact, when he was killed last fall by a stingray I wasn't sure who he was and recall telling my husband, "Crocodile Dundee died today!" But I remember Bindi's brave appearance at her father's memorial service and was touched by clips of her and Irwin appearing together in episodes of one of his popular documentaries. I remember also cringing when I realized that if they were to make a film at that moment of the legacy I had passed on to my children, it would consist entirely of scenes of us knocking back Frappuccinos at Starbucks and racing through the aisles of Target.

Adding to my desire to become president of the Bindi Fan Club is this quote: "I'm proud to be showing kids that conservation and helping wildlife is a stack of fun. It's just the most amazing thing that we could ever do,"

Go Bindi! And whatever you do, stay the hell away from Lindsay.
