Reese Witherspoon and her mini-me, daughter Ava, got in some batting practice together at an LA baseball field. It's amazing how much Ava looks like her mom - sign that girl up for Legally Blonde 3!

I'm thinking Reese was probably practicing for her upcoming role as a professional softball player in James Brooks' new movie. She has supposedly thrown herself into a demanding exercise regime, honing her softball skills and running rigorous drills.

The untitled comedy – which is going by the working title How Do You Know? – involves a love triangle between a white collar executive, played by Paul Rudd, Reese's character and a professional baseball pitcher played by Owen Wilson. Twenty-dollars says Kate Hudson will manage to insert herself in there somewhere.

After attending Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Saarsgard's wedding in Italy last week, the couple may have been bitten by the wedding bug.

I can understand Reese may be gun shy about getting married again, but man, how long have they been dating? Supposedly they are planning their own wedding. I'm picturing a nice beach wedding for them. I think that Reese is a laid back kind of girl and a beach wedding including the kids and the family dog would suit her well.

What do you think, is it about time they get married or should they keep their pace?

Wow, this is not a good picture of Maggie Gyllenhaal, but it was the picture the New York Post ran. The picture was run with the story that Maggie and Peter are finally going to tie the knot, maybe.

The rumor is that the couple is going to get married in Italy in the second week of May.

That's cool, it should be beautiful this time of year and it will be good for Ramona to be exposed to different cultures and sights.

I'm really jealous, I want to go to Italy too.

Reese Witherspoon - Gyllenhaal? Not So Fast

Are rumors about a Reese Witherspoon - Jake Gyllenhaal wedding justified? You can bet that the power couple is feeling the pressure.

Reese has a pretty full plate with her upcoming roll as a pro-softball player and two kids -- Ava Elizabeth, 9, and Deacon Reese, 5 -- and she's made it know that she isn't going to hurry into anything following her divorce with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. But that won't stop friends and the blogosphere from speculating:

“Reese’s best friend, Heather Whitney [co-owner of the LA clothing store Poppy], just got engaged,” a source tells Life & Style magazine. “She’s got Reese thinking! People around her have been speculating that she and Jake are getting closer and closer to the altar, and Heather’s engagement only puts that much more pressure on them. At least they’re discussing [marriage]. Close friends shrug and say ‘I don’t know anything’ when you can tell they know something. Everyone in their circle is talking about it. It’s like any other relationship — the marriage issue has finally caught up with them.”

Perhaps even more significant is the fact that Jake has already proposed -- almost two years ago. Sure, Reese wasn't ready then, but Jake made his intentions pretty clear.

As it goes with most long-term couples, as time passes, the pressure continuously ratchets up. Some reports have them already engaged. We'll see.

Peter Sargaard Is Hardcore About Soccer

All parents have hopes and dreams about how their kids will turn out, but Peter Sarsgaard is kinda militant about it. He really wants his and Maggie Gyllenhaal's daughter Ramona to enjoy soccer, and he's not taking no for an answer.

“Every child that I have must play soccer. I’m one of those people who’s constantly chipping the ball over the kitchen island trying to land it into a basket of Ramona’s toys — taking out wine glasses and things.”

Being a pro soccer player was apparently Peter's first choice as a career, but he had to fall back on being a movie star instead. Bummer.

I guess it's a good thing that Peter wants to have a common interest with 2-year-old Ramona, but you gotta be a little weary of placing too many expectations on a kid. What if she likes a good American sport? Like football? What if she doesn't give a flip about soccer like the rest of us, and thinks that David Beckham is famous for being Posh's husband?

Will Maggie step in and allow Ramona to be her own person? I'm not too worried, it's kinda hard to imagine Peter being a super harsh parent.

Seth Rogen Really Hates Kids

Well I guess we won't have to worry about funnyman Seth Rogen procreating anytime soon. He says he hates kids.

Yes, he knows that he has a huge kid movie out the summer, but now that he's done promoting Monsters VS. Aliens he can let it all out.

He also says that he's not impressed when his fans bring their kids to his screenings and meet-and-greets, he says he can't relate.

What 26 year old childless male can relate to parents with kids?

He said, "Kids like me but when they meet me they're horrified by me... These guys bring their kids (to screenings) and I kind of resent them. To me it's kind of a sacrilegious thing and the kid would cry. It was horrible...Now that the movie's out and I don't have to promote it anymore, I can say that I hate children. It's out, it's made $60 million (£41.1 million). I can say it: I hate kids. If no kid ever came up to me, I would be more than happy."

Poor guy, he doesn't really get it does he? Those people with kids are his fan base. Insult your fans = no fan base.

Reese Witherspoon has been hitting red carpets around the world, spilling her secrets and strutting her stuff.

She has a new slim down technique and she let us know what it is.

She bought her daughter Ava a pot bellied pig and has cut all forms of pork from their diet. She said, “His name’s Booker T. Washington - my daughter is studying American history. She won’t eat pork, she won’t eat bacon, and I have to be very careful with what I eat.”

I guess that's one way to do it. I don't think my kids would be able to give up bacon, we don't have it often, but they love it when we do.

I'm very excited to see that Reese Witherspoon is going to branch out of her romcom rut. Well, maybe not, we'll see.

She is involved in pre-production of a movie involving Paul Rudd and Bill Murray. She is all set to play a professional athlete, a softball player. I'm guessing because it Reese, that the character she plays will be a positive influence for young girls.

She seems to pick roles that she wouldn't be ashamed to see her daughter in. The roles she played before she had her kids do not count.

Movie roles aside, Reese seems to try to be a great role model for her daughter. We need more women in the public eye to be responsible about the mark they leave on young girls everywhere.

Ryan Philippe was out in Beverly Hills on Wednesday with kids Deacon and Ava, and they look like they have a message for all of us. No, it's not 'World Peace Please' in spite of what it says on Deacons t-shirt. I think by the looks on their faces it's, "Everyone please leave us alone." I wouldn't step in the path of this trio, unless you want Deacon to beat you down with that Otter Pop.

Ava is starting to look exactly like her mom, Reese Witherspoon. Ryan is looking a little worse for wear, and maybe it's because he heard the the rumor that his ex is engaged to that hottie Jake Gyllenhaal. That could really ruin a guy's day.

Reese Witherspoon is one of those typical moms that embarrasses the hell out of her children. She recently talked about taking 9-year-old daughter Ava Elizabeth to see Carrie Underwood in concert.

Ava said, "Mom, I really appreciate you taking me to the concert, but will you please not embarrass me in front of Carrie Underwood by singing? Because she's a REAL singer and you're just, like, a movie singer."

Despite winning her Best Actress Oscar for playing June Carter Cash in "Walk the Line," Reese's vocals do not get high marks with her daughter. "I love to sing around the house and in the car," Reese says, "but my daughter hates it."

What she loves about it, though, is that - to her kids - she's just Mom. "Realizing you're not anything special to the kids is always a great sort of reminder that you're just a regular person," she says. "A regular, embarrassing old mom."

Maggie Gyllenhaal is a very down-to-earth mom. She was able to reconnect with one of her childhood loves.

She presented a check from Fisher-Price to the Wildlife Conservation Society for $250,000.

The Wildlife Conservation Society saves all things wild: animals and wild places.

Fisher Price just went up a notch in my estimation.

Maggie said, “Fisher-Price is such a big part of everyone’s childhood and I am so happy to join forces with them in presenting this generous donation in support of the Wildlife Conservation Society. I remember having one of those Fisher-Price tape players, listening to Cyndi Lauper, walking around my neighborhood. I think especially in New York City, in Brooklyn where I live, it’s important to encourage children to learn about and be a part of nature. It’s difficult to find that in the city. I know from my own childhood that my connection with nature has changed the way I look at the world. I think it’s important to show them how we can and how we must co-exist. They are learning to respect the planet.”

This whole talk about Maggie and nature makes me think of "The Secretary".

Lovebirds Reese and Jake, strolled hand in hand while doing some shopping.

They look awful cute together, him with his haircut and her with her beenie, she even looks like she has lot a little weight.

It must be boring being a celebrity when you aren't filming a movie and your time isn't consumed by a cause. You just shop and shop until that gets so boring you don't buy anything.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to not have to work and have the dispensible income, but I know that I would need something to do to occupy my time and brain.

Is Reese Witherspoon pregnant? She and daughter Ava were spotted leaving a Beverly Hills medical center a couple of days ago, and Reese looks slightly fuller in the belly area. Maybe the doctor visit was to have a prenatal checkup? Sure, it could be bad dress bulge that we're seeing, but it could also be a baby, right? Oh yes!

You've gotta feel sorry for these celebrities sometimes. First they have to spend all that time counting all that money, then they have decide what expensive barnyard animal to buy as gifts for their children.

Reese Witherspoon is no exception - she's says daughter Ava, 9, "wants a horse" for Christmas, but says she hasn't decided if there'll be a filly under the tree come December 25.

"I'm a little strict about that kind of stuff," Witherspoon says. "I think kids do best when they only have a couple of things that they really enjoy. I try and stay away from the gluttony of things. They don't appreciate it as much. When they only get one or two things, they really like it."

That's right Reese - one or two horses should be enough for those kids of yours.

And with your movie Four Christmases being number one right now, you won't have to put them on your credit card, either.

Perhaps those rumors of Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal drifting apart are a bit premature, because according to an eyewitness, Reese treated Jake with a little striptease that left him, uh, quite happy to say the least.

A day after her arrival in London to visit Jake, Reese took her man into a sex toy and underwear shop for a private show.

The couple shopped at a Myla boutique on the West End, and the Legally Blonde actress lured Jake into her changing room, and treated him to a 'stripping down to her bra and panties' show, which gave him much to smile about. She tried on various bra and panty sets, including a teeny-tiny pair of purple panties and matching push-up bra.

He must have liked what he saw, as he brought a few of the items to the cash register and Reese used her credit card to pay for them.

Vanessa Brown, store clerk said, "Clearly, that purple set did it for him. Reese has a really fit body. She looks fantastic. She's petite....but I'm not telling her bra size!"

As the pair were leaving the store, they stopped to giggle at the display of sex toys, including a black spoon-shaped gadget designed for "all over body massage as well as more intimate use."

Vanessa adds, "They were laughing and joking and just enjoying the moment."

Sounds like Reese and Jake are back on track. Maybe we'll be hearing wedding bells soon and watching for a baby bump!

After Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe split up, I really hoped Reese would find someone who would be good to her and her two kids. I like her - have enjoyed a lot of her movies and she seems like a down to earth sort of person. When she began seeing Jake Gyllenhaal, they seemed like a match made in heaven - both not much into the limelight, but more into living a 'normal' life. Now, sadly, they might be breaking up....

The pair began dating almost 2 years ago and things seemed to be going well. However, there are reports of things not being quite so sunny. Gyllenhaal is currently working 19 hour days in Morocco and London on his next film project, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and of course that means he's away from Reese and her two children.

A friend tells Star, "This is his first epic, and his mind is on his work. They talk on the phone and e-mail, but he's not 'there.' Reese is wondering if this is how it's going to be between them every time he's out of the country filming."

According to a source, things got touchy in the relationship and Reese flew to London for a rendezvous with Jake. The couple shacked up at The Dorchester earlier last month.

The source says, "They really needed to reconnect and remember why they were in a relationship in the first place. While there, they even went house hunting for a place because Jake will be using London as his home base until December. Reese doesn't like the formality of a hotel for her and her two kids."

The insider adds, hopefully the time away, "will get them back on the same page." Let's hope! Reese really deserves some happiness.

This sounds completely healthy and soul-fulfilling and all, but what happened to the good old days when couples used to spend quality time in their car on a dark, deserted street? What happened to bonding over a mutual love of bad music and cheap booze?

C'mon, people - get some romance back into your life and trade those meditative moments on a yoga mat for a few hot hours on a tattered mattress.

Jake Gyllenhaal has a dog named Atticus and he's going to be a part of his and Reese's wedding.

Someone (I'm sure it was a friend) close to the couple told the Enquirer that, "Atticus now lives with Reese full-time. He is great with her kids and makes her feel safe when Jake is away. It was totally Reese's idea to give Atticus a role in the wedding. Jake has fallen into the role of step dad to her kids, so it is only fitting that Reese has more or less adopted Atticus as her own too!"

Maybe this will be the new celebrity fad, including you pets in your weddings. Pete Wentz and Ashlee already did it, so did Ashley Jensen from Ugly Betty last year.

I met a guy in Seattle that had a dog named Atticus, must be a popular dog name.

Rumors swirled following the January death of Heath Ledger, that he was depressed and seemed moody and withdrawn on the set of the Batman: Dark Knight movie, however costar Gary Oldman says that is not so. And Ledger often spoke of his little girl, Matilda Rose and it was evident that she was the apple of her father's eye.

Says Oldman, who plays Lt. Jim Gordon in the film, "Because he died people want a dark story [that] he was so obsessed with the character, he was so contaminated by the Joker and he couldn't sleep and all of that stuff.

"In between takes he would sit on the curbside and smoke a cigarette and laugh and talk about his daughter Matilda. I thought he was just a beautiful kid. I thought he was just wonderful. I had a real affection for him."

Aaron Eckhart, who plays District Attorney Harvey Dent in the movie said, Heath would "gush" about his daughter, "Heath showed me pictures of [Matilda]...[he] would come in and say she did this and she did that."

Echkart said that the 28-year-old actor did relish in his role as the Joker, "He really created his look. That character - Heath loved so much. He really cared about the Joker."

Christopher Nolan, director said Heath was perfect for the role, as he was looking for someone "truly fearless."

"[For] those who knew him and those who had the privilege of working with him, it's pretty amazing the disparity between the person he was and the monster that he created for us.

"To see that being created from this very gentle person is a real testament to his skill as an actor."
