Kathie Lee Has Advice For The Gosselins

On Monday's edition of the Today Show, Kathie Lee Gifford offered up some backhanded advice for Jon & Kate: Get the heck off my TV!

Actually, that's what tons of Americans were thinking. What Kathie actually meant was to stop doing their ridiculously popular show and try to pick up the pieces.

"I would turn off the cameras if I were them and just work on healing together as a family. Who knows the long-term damage something like this could do?," Gifford suggests.

"I understand they are making a living, but you have to wonder at what price."

Sure Kathie, they'll just turn off the cameras, break contract and lose a ton of money ... that's really going to solve a lot of freaking problems for the Gosselins.

The truth is, if even a few of the cheating rumors are true, the marriage is probably doomed (as it appears to be) and the best thing Jon & Kate can do is to keep milking their franchise until it runs dry. I mean, 8 kids, six will be going to college at exactly the same time ... the money will come in handy.

Guess it's been awhile since Kathie had to worry about her finances.

Jon Gosselin's Extramarital Bed On Ebay!?

Wow, yet another piece of celebrity parenting history might be up for grabs this week. The brother of reality TV star Jon Gosselin's mistress is reportedly selling his sister's infamous bed on eBay.

Earlier today, it was Nadya Suleman's parents' foreclosed 3 bedroom house. Now, bidders may get a shot at Deanna Hummel's queen mattress. Ewww.

After schoolteacher Deanna Hummel's brother went public about the alleged affair, she moved out, leaving the bed in her wake. Now, Deanna's opportunistic brother Jason says he's considering an auction to see how much a fan (perhaps in search of DNA evidence) will pay for the piece of trashy tabloid history.

“I want to put the bed on eBay,” Jason said this week. “I want to see how much some crazy fan will pay.”

The whole thing -- and I mean the situation, the brother, the breakup and of course the mattress -- is really pretty disgusting.

What's really in store for the Gosselin family circus, it's pretty hard to say. If the tabloids are to be believed, Jon is looking for his own apartment that will accommodate his kids and the TV crew. That should fit this season's theme on Jon & Kate Plus 8 -- mediation and almost certain divorce. Sad.

Peter Andre Wants Out - Quickie Divorce in the Works

Peter Andre wants out of his marriage to Katie Price/Jordan so bad, that he's asking for a quickie divorce.

The more information/speculation that comes out regarding the couple's relationship, the faster he wants out. He said, "There is no way I'm getting back with Kate. I wouldn't be putting my children through this hell if I wasn't serious. I want a divorce - and I want it to be as amicable as possible so we can all get on with our lives."

Good, I was hoping they weren't doing it for the publicity. He actually wants the divorce to go as smooth as possible. He doesn't want the children to be more traumatized than they already are. A source said, "Peter only cares about the welfare of his children, he wants the resolution for the sake of the children."

Poor kiddies, divorce is hard on everyone involved, especially hard on those that don't understand what's going on.

TLC, along with Jon & Kate Gosselin, is under investigation to make sure they are following Pennsylvania's child labor laws.

There was a complaint filed against the show, alluding to the fact that the family is exploiting the children, so the Department of Labor is doing their due diligence and looking into it.

Last Sunday E!Online published an article on the very same subject. The results of their research: Attorney Paul Moretti said, "Chances are, courts would say this doesn't count as labor, because the children are doing things they would be doing whether there was a camera or not. Show producers are not taking the kids away from their studies, making them memorize lines, or taking them away from socialization. The law would probably say that when the children are sitting at home using a coloring book or going to a soccer game, and they're being filmed, they're not doing someone else's business. They're doing their own business."

Another Attorney, Lisa Pierson Weinberger, brought out that, kids on shows like these might not even be getting any of the money, that their time in front of the camera isn't "labor".

Since I'm sure Kate isn't giving her kids any cash right now, we can only hope they all have a nice college fund set up. In fact, maybe we should ask to see proof of a college fund or whatever it is they have, that will insure the future of the kids. That would be a nice addition to the law, especially if Kate's not around to do any of the parenting.

Pamela Gosselin is stepping up and speaking out to support her son Jon. She feels that Jon doesn't get portrayed fairy on the show or on the internet, that he's the bad guy in this whole deal.

She released a statement saying, "I don't think he will ever be portrayed fairly, it will always be twisted. I don't think it's fair, and it will never be." I bet she hates to hear such mean things being said about her son. We all know how it feels when someone badmouths our kids, it's gut-wrenching. That defensive thing just comes out and we go into protective mode.

I doubt it will ever be fair, but that's just the way it is. Jon just needs to concentrate on the kids and everything will work out for the best.

Jon Gosselin Looking For An Apartment?

Word has it that Jon is out hunting for a bachelor pad with TLC producers. His criteria: room for the kids, space for the camera crew ... oh yeah, and no Kate.

From In Touch: “Producers have begun looking for apartments that are camera-crew friendly so that Jon can move out (whether he wants to or not),”

TLC might not be savviest of networks, but they know a cash cow when they see one -- and they're not turning loose until they've squeezed every bit of publicity and ratings out of Jon & Kate Plus 8 -- even though the marriage appears to be clearly over. Unfortunately for the "plus 8," according to the National Enquirer, the divorce is all but final between the couple of 10 years.

Now with their marriage in shambles, both Jon and Kate are scrambling to find divorce lawyers, according to a family insider.

“Jon said their goal is to be legally separated by July 15 because Kate wants to move on quickly,” the insider told The Enquirer.

“They haven’t yet said anything to the kids, but they have agreed to joint custody - and that’s about all they’ve agreed to.

“Jon is going to push for half of their money, but Kate is determined to hang on to as much as she can - and they’re worth more than you think…

There’s a small fortune at stake here - easily $10 million.”

Will it ruin the show if Jon and Kate no longer live in the same house? How's that going to work?

I could see some potential for interesting custody drama and ratings boosting fights between J&K.

Jon & Kate Plus 8 have a lot going on right now, I bet they couldn't find their butt with both hands. They need to get it together!

How I've wanted to say that!

So TLC had the most watched show in the premier of Jon & Kate Plus 8 on Monday night, and they aren't letting go. They are going to milk that puppy for all it's worth. They say if the family wants out they'll stop, but I'm thinking that the 40 episode's they ordered for this season are binding.

If the public stays interested, we're soon going to be watching "Jon & Kate Plus 8 The College Years". It never works, look at "Saved by the Bell", nobody wanted to see Zach and Kelly in college.

TLC has a major cash cow in the show and it's going to take Jon some major strategy to get off the show, if he really does want off, that is.

Jon & Kate Gosselin are fighting mad and not just at each other.

The couple is tired of, and mad at, the paparazzi that constantly hang out in front of their house and follow them around trying to take pictures of them and the kids. They insist that they didn't sign up for that part of being a celebrity.

Au Contraire, Mon Frère.

You signed up for the big time as soon as you said, Yes, I will take all those freebies, thank you very much.

You become a reality celebrity and everyone wants to know everything about you. They want to know whether you deserve all the great things you are getting and why you? Why do you get these things instead of them?

Once people find out that you both came from wealthy backgrounds, then it was on. You were using the system and abusing their trust. Of course people are going to hound you with cameras, they want to see you fail. They want to justify it in their minds that you really didn't deserve it and that you conned everyone.

So quit your whining Jon & Kate, think of your kids and the pain this will cause them as they get older. Is it so hard to be nice to each other and remind yourselves why you fell in love?

Pull up those bootstraps and get to work, because you have a long row to hoe if you are going to make it work.

Jon & Kate Plus 8's Record Breaking Premier

If you watched the season premier of Jon & Kate Plus 8, you were not alone.

Episode I of Season 5 opened with a bang, though Kate's sister urged us not to watch, just under 10 million did. It was the most watched episode ever.

The 9.8 million almost doubled the 4.6 million that tuned in for the Season 4 finale. Criminy!

What does this mean for the show? Surely it means this season is safe and I'm guessing another season is in the works. Those poor kids, they need a little time to grow up away from the camera or they are going to want to change their names when they get older.

I'm happy to say I didn't watch. If you did watch, did you feel like you needed to shower after you watched?

In a new statement Jon & Kate said, "As many couples do, we are navigating a very difficult time. Our current situation brings us together around the children and some times sets us apart. We keep our faith that we will make the right decisions for our family. We will always love our kids, we will come together for our kids."

What does it mean? Could it be more vague?

I think they are just saying, Please watch our show, we're doing everything we can to keep you interested. Don't judge us, we're just like you. To the other parents of multiples that are making it, well, the statistics were against us from the start. You got the lucky roll of the dice and we just aren't as lucky as you.

They are trying to play to the masses that watch them, that they are a normal couple with lots of kids, who just happen to make lots of money each episode. They don't want you to know that Kate wants more money and a 2 season guarantee. They don't want you to know that Jon is living above the garage.

Kate wants to keep going on trips promoting books that she doesn't write, maintain her immaculate manicure and be able to keep her over-priced hair stylist. With that hair style anybody would be over -priced.

It's all crap, that's what it is. They either need to separate and get it over with or work it out. There is too much at stake with those kids, they are getting older and are going to know what's going on pretty soon. If they don't already.

Did you watch the Jon & Kate premier tonight? I think it was a hard fence to jump off of, I however had no choice. I have no furniture or TV in my house so I depended on my Twitter feed to get me through the premier.

I captured a few of them for this post because it's important for the public to have their say, especially about a "reality" show. These are no particular order:

I really like that one, I would watch that Wife Swap episode. Michelle Duggar might be afraid to leave her kids in Kate's hands though.

I agree, the kids are the most important, especially at their young ages.

Say how you really feel MRMULISHA, though I'm sure others feel the same.

Yep, just another show that needs ratings.

The tragedy that is jon &Kate will be played out over the summer. Everyone will make thier money and in some sick way they will all be happy, whether divorced or together.

Sneak Peek! Jon & Kate Plus 8 Season Premiere

Haven't got your fill of the Jon and Kate drama? You're in luck! Now you can see a clip of the season premiere. Most notably, the couple appear separately in the clip; a tense looking Kate expresses her feelings about her six youngest children turning five, and a weary-looking Jon hints at the couple's problems that have been dominating the tabloids.

"It gives me a heart attack thinking about it - my youngest kids are five years old," says Kate. "It's not just a birthday, I say that every year. It's a celebration of, 'We've made it five years.'"

But Jon is a bit more philosophical. "The world isn't about ratings and TV. It's about happiness and love and companionship and God," he says. "And, you know, I think we all get caught up in everything. Too much of anything is bad. Because I love my kids, I love my family and that's what it is.

"Kate and I obviously have been going through a lot of stuff and discussing what's best for our kids," Jon continues, obviously alluding to the scandals that have plagued their relationship of late. "What we said in the beginning -- it's a crazy life, but it's our life -- that's so true."

Poor Kate Gosselin! "Tabloids Turning My Life into Hell!"

Kate Gosselin says she's hit the breaking point with all the tabloid coverage of her and her husband, Jon's, lives. Living under the microscope is finally taking its toll.

"Before this, I'd never stood on line at the grocery store, looked at the people on the cover of magazines, and thought about what they're going through," Kate told People magazine. "I'd never thought, 'Oh my god, this is totally doing them in.' But now, I understand what they live with: Everywhere you go you're being stalked, you're being followed - it's hell, on the cover of a magazine."

While she says that she's an easy target for gobs of people dressing her up as a monster, she finally came to grips with the attention. "In the first two and a half years that we were doing Jon & Kate Plus Eight, I felt very ugly towards fans. The gawking, that sort of response creeped me out. I was not willing or ready to accept what you get back when you put your life out there," Kate says. "At some point, I turned around and I realized, 'Okay, people are pulling for us, the feel inspired by us, they love us. It clicked: without the fans there is no show, without the show, there is no job."

But nowadays? The tabloids are covering the not-so-niceties in Jon and Kate's lives: rumors of infidelity (on both sides), rumors of their marriage being a sham, even Kate's hideous hair makes headines. God knows why women are emulating THAT.

"It's so scary," Kate says. "It's like one of those movies where you have to change your identity and go underground. I've been saying, 'Let's find a country where our show doesn't air, and let's just go there until this all dies.' I have to laugh about this, or else I'll cry. It's a matter of, when will they stop?"

Kate is doing her best to grin and deal with the maelstrom surrounding her and Jon, but if you want to tick her off, all you have to do is attack the kids. "I don't want them dragged into this. It kills me. I'm far from perfect, but I've started to prioritize what is important. My children are important. My attitude is important. My marriage is important, and though I don't know where that's going right now, I know I can definitely choose my attitude. And I know that I will never give up, I will not stop, I will not fail my kids. Everything else I can't control, I'm just going to have to learn to live with it."

That's right, Kate Gosselin is now a blogger, but unfortunately, not for Famecrawler.

So what was her first post about? How bout: how the paparazzi really sucks. No kidding.

Actually, it's about her going shopping with her 8 kids and how much the paparazzi sucks. Still, it's it cool that she's a blogger?

After lunch, we were finally all ready to go. As we departed for the store, five additional cars joined our crew and myself as I drove the big blue bus down the road. Had you passed us, you may have thought we were a funeral procession. But no, it was just me and my posse, I mean paparazzi, and crew.

Apparently, Kate had a real problem with fans of the show for the first couple seasons of the show, but she got over it. So, now she's got a problem with the paps, but she'll eventually learn to deal.

"In the first two and a half years that we were doing the show (Jon & Kate Plus Eight), I felt very ugly towards fans," she says. "The gawking, that sort of response creeped me out. I was not willing or ready to accept what you get back when you put your life out there."

In the third part of their interview, Kate's brother and sister-in-law, revealed more details about the Gosselin's relationship.

Kevin and Jodi Kreider have really jumped on the publicity band wagon haven't they? They state that Kate "told Jon their relationship was over and they should begin dating others."

Shut the front door!

Are they going to have an open marriage? I know people that do and it works for them, just sayin'.

The couple also said, "All we know is what Jon told us, that Kate came to him with a contract saying he could have girlfriends and that he can do his own thing."

I knew it, I knew they had to have some sort of arrangement. They have an arrangement and she's just acting mad for the ratings.

Let's face it, things have not been going so great for Jon and Kate Gosselin for the last few months. After a few months of infidelity rumors and tabloid speculation, the Gosselins are in desperate need of some mega-mediation. Thank goodness Jimmy Fallon and his mediation team Beef Solvers are one the case.

OK, this episode of Beef Sovers really just shows how things could be, if two grown adults could just be perfectly honest about their problems, stop sleeping around on each other, and remember all eight of their kids' names. Wouldn't the world be a better place?

While the two audience members playing Jon and Kate were good, the ones playing the eight Gosselin children were spot on. I really felt like each one had made an emotional connection with their character -- especially #7, he's going places.

Jon's having an affair, Kate's having an affair, the Gosselins are just a huge hot mess. And because of all the scandal surrounding the stars of "Jon & Kate Plus Eight," TLC is giving a full one-hour treatment to the season premiere of the show May 25. They'll be talking about how the tabloids have affected the Gosslins' marriage.

TLC says, ""We are in production for season 5 and moving forward as planned, while fully supporting the family and respecting their needs as they work through this challenging time. This show has always been about a real family dealing with real-life situations, and that will continue to be the case."

One of the big tabloid stories of late is that Kate is having an affair with her bodyguard, Steve Neild. Neild's employer denies the rumors, though. "Tabloid media is doing what people love it for doing; skewing information, misinterpreting, and embracing garbage and gossip. Steve Neild's and our firm's client relationships are, always have been, and always will be of the highest professional standard."

There will be 46 episodes of "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" produced this year. EW got an exclusive talk with the reality TV couple. Here are some excerpts:

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: It seems like, sometime in the last year, your show jumped from the ozone to the stratosphere. Can you pinpoint the moment when it felt as if things had changed drastically?

KATE GOSSELIN: Last January, February of 2008. I remember one day it occurred to me that, Oh man, we are in this and we can never go back. It literally hit me.

EW: What do you think was happening at that time? When people started trying to get your picture?

KATE: That started a lot at the other house, every five minutes people would stop and take pictures, run up on our porch and take pictures while we were there. People would stop by to watch the kids play. Every week the bar got raised, and I remember thinking, When is this stopping? Because it was getting scary.

EW: Is it better with this large house?

KATE: Oh yeah, they sit out on the street all day and they're not really going to see much. I'm far back from the road and I'm safe.

JON GOSSELIN: You need a telephoto lens.

KATE: When I go through those gates, I'm good, and it's pretty weird because we're still just like a normal family, we're functioning as a family.

EW: Do you think you are any different now on the show than you were during the first season?

KATE: We're different, I mean it's been four years. Everybody changes. We as people are different, but I don't have time, really, to edit myself. I don't edit myself with anyone.

JON: It's real.

EW: Do you feel it's always been an accurate portrayal of you?

KATE: Yeah, generally speaking. It is real and it all occurred, however, I realize that my dramatic self doesn't bode well with people watching me. In the early days, it could have taken us two days to film one episode, but in 22 minutes you would see every meltdown I had, so it looked like I was melting down constantly - which happens, and I don't care. I really don't care that people see it. I am who I am and there's always going to be haters and there's always going to be lovers and that's just the way it is.

EW: Do the children seem more camera savvy today?

KATE: We just went to the Smithsonian, where a different camera crew sat them on a stool and asked them interview questions and they answered them in complete sentences, and appropriately. And I was like, "Wow!" I had tears in my eyes. They've grown up, obviously, and they're getting better at it.

EW: How does production work each week?

KATE: We film an average of three days. Sometimes they're here all day, or just two hours.

EW: Do you call this the house that TLC built?

KATE: No, I call this the house that Kate and Jon bought and we will pay for, for a long time. We've worked hard, just like everybody else. I wish TLC was paying for it, but that ain't happening. Our mortgage is large and hefty, and we have two mortgages, because we still can't sell the other house.

EW: The fourth-season finale played like a cliffhanger. Was there a chance you wouldn't come back?

KATE: Yes. All true.

EW: What happened?

JON: I just decided it was to benefit my kids, I really don't like the public life. There are a lot of positives, obviously.

KATE: Feeding the kids. College.

JON: Yeah, but the paparazzi thing and public eye, I don't like it at all. I still don't like it. I don't mind taking fan pictures and stuff like that, but it's strange to me, I moved back here to be away from that all, we're in the middle of the country, and now they're here taking pictures, everywhere.

EW: How long can you see yourself doing this show?

KATE: Don't say it. Hold that thought, we don't know.

JON: It changes.

KATE: We take one day at a time.

EW: Can life go back to normal after this?

JON: What do you consider normal?

KATE: That's when I said that day that I realized we're never going back. So that's good and bad.

JON: I could do [computer work] but not in the same realm that I did.

KATE: I don't ever want to go back. I'm very comfortable at this point in front of cameras, I love it, I go into a studio and I'm like, Ahhhh. It's odd, because I would have never thought that of myself. But I'm enjoying very much what I'm doing.

No trashy tabloid affair is complete unless at least a few lavish gifts are exchanged, and it appears that Jon Gosselin's is no different.

This is so totally classic. According to alleged mistress Deanna Hummel's deadbeat brother Jason, Jon Gosselin not only took time away from his own wife and 8 kids to indulge in a fling with Hummel, but he managed to make some fairly hefty purchases for his lady on the side as well. From US Magazine:

One of the ways to his mistress’ heart? Expensive presents. “He gave her a Cole Haan bag,” Jason says of the $295 Pixie Straw Collection bag that Jon FedExed, with receipt (shown in US print edition), to the Hummels’ home. A store clerk confirms to US that Jon shopped at Beverly Hills’ Rodeo Drive store on March 25, while traveling with Kate. As for other gifts, Jason points to his sister’s new diamond watch. “She never could have afford the watch, and it’s not a style she would have picked out,” Jason says.

If Jon really did buy Deanna a bag while he was on Rodeo with Kate, it kinda lends some credence to the rumors that they have an open marriage. Still, it seems a lot more likely that Jon was simply cheating, and that Kate's in major denial.

Apparently, Deanna's brother called Jon a "moron" and "dumb." If all these allegations turn out to be true than I'm going to have to agree with him. In fact, I'm halfway expecting a leaked Jon and Deanna sex tape in the next week or so.

And the plot thickens... Word is going around that Jon's schoolteacher mistress Deanna Hummel may have made a sex tape with a former boyfriend. And, that former boyfriend may have set up a website in order to sell it to the highest bidder.

Last time I check in on Jon, Kate and their ever-growing supporting cast, Kate had been accussed of cheating too, while Jon's infidelity had actually been confirmed by Hummel's brother. As if that wasn't saucy enough, now it looks like this whole debacle might have sunk to a new low: sex tapes.

There's really no telling how much truth there is to any of these allegations, but the Jon & Kate Plus 8 stars are certainly getting their good names dragged through the internet smut machine.

This is what the supposed ex-boyfriend has posted on his website (go here for the link), along with still from the tape:

"The Deanna I knew wasn't above cheating, even with married men, hence our eventual breakup. During our time together we made a secret amateur sex tape. It wasn't a hidden cam or anything, she was totally aware of the fact that I was taping. This has never been available to the public before. And it still isn't...yet! But I am shopping this tape and am currently in negotiations with sites like porn.com about selling it."

All I'm saying is, Deanna better get her cut of the proceeds, because her days as a schoolteacher may be numbered.

It was only a matter of time. Jon and Kate Gosselin, parents of 8 and stars of the TV show ~~"Divorce Court"~~ "Jon & Kate Plus 8" will be facing off with America's sweetheart Nadya Suleman, aka Octomom, and her brood of 14 children on what can only be called the pinnacle of reality television.

It does seem a bit early, albeit inevitable. Personally I had anticipated something along the lines of "Family Feud" or "Laff-A-Lympics," but that's why I'm just a writer and not a marketing genius.

According to a source the contest between the families will take place on a special edition of "Dancing With the Stars" and will feature "choreographed numbers that showcase the talents of the Gosselins and Ms. Suleman, respectively."

The source also states that the children are "obviously very young and there is a large span between their ages, therefore you will see everything from strollers to cribs on wheels."

"DWTS" and ABC were not available for comment.

I've seen "Jon & Kate Plus 8" a gajillion times. It's one of those fascinating shows, though perhaps more fascinating if you have multiples. Granted, I only have twins and not sextuplets, but still...the logistics of running a household with 8 children is just something else.

And now it seems the "perfect couple" - Jon and Kate Gosselin - aren't so perfect, after all. In fact, rumor has it that Jon is out cavorting around with young women, acting very unmarried. Jon has been out drinking and partying with lots of college women lately.

He recently turned up uninvited to a college party and played beer pong with the women's volleyball team. "He was acting like a drunk, girl-chasing frat boy," one team member said. "It really disturbed me. On the show he is so nice, but here, he was acting like an idiot."

Then, the next night, Jon wound up at Memories Sports Bar & Grill, in PA. "He was dirty dancing with several girls from the volleyball team, making out, kissing them on their necks and mouths," a witness says.

"He was all over one girl, a long-haired blonde who's nearly 6 feet tall. He left with several of the girls, including her."

Ugh. If that's not douchebaggery on display, I don't know what is. You've got a wife and kids at home and THAT'S how you behave? Bet you won't see that crap on their reality show any time soon. But it'd be a heck of a trainwreck to watch Kate beat the ever-loving snot out of Jon.

Kate Gosselin's days are incredibly full, and if you've ever seen the TLC series "Jon & Kate Plus 8" you know why. Kate and husband Jon have 8 freaking kids! There are the 8-year-old twins and the 4-year-old sextuplets. While Kate is used to cooking for 10 people, she says that it's all cranked up to a whole new level for the holidays.

"I just love Thanksgiving and Christmas," Kate says. "I feel like the holidays are all about looking at our blessings, being together as a family." And what a family it is. For the holidays, Kate is in the kitchen, making meals for at least 15 ADDITIONAL people!

"The day before I prepare everything to just throw it in the oven. The pies, all the desserts I bake the day before," she says. "Jon requires the same meal every year. I have to bake a pumpkin pie, along with egg custard pies and apple pies."

Kate is developing new family traditions, too, so that her 8 kids will carry them on to their own families in the future. "I want our kids ot be able to look back on the holidays and remember very concrete things. I love to pull it all off and always get carried away. It's just the holiday spirit. It's awesome, I love it."

I can't imagine buying Christmas gifts for 8 kids. And I thought I was broke for three months around the holidays.
