Suri's "Office under the stairs" might sound a little creepy but it's actually quite cute. Where was she for this? Why do I imagine her in a stark white room being programmed for world domination?

With Tom Cruise's recent interview on the Oprah show where he was *twitch twitch* reletively normal, I'm thinking he could only hold it in for so long.

While shopping with Kate and Suri, Tom took it upon himself to chat it up with a complete stranger. A woman. Smiling and laughing with this lady, Tom must have really hit it off with her because he bought her 3 outfits.

The source that tipped us off to the strange purchases, also said

“Tom and Katie are very hands on parents,” the source said. “Suri is a good baby, but didn’t talk at all.”

Uh huh. That's because Xenu doesn't allow Suri to speak when Daddy is busy chatting up and buying things for strange women. And apparently what's good for daughter goes for Mama too.

And we thought Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were an odd couple. Apparently Cher (yes, that Cher) reveals in an upcoming Oprah Winfrey show that she once had a fling with Cruise, shortly after the release of "Risky Business."

Cher tells Oprah the brief affair took place when she was 39 and the newbie actor was 23 and admits, "It could have been a great big romance because I was crazy about him."

I'm trying to picture in my mind what this relationship would be like if they had stayed together. Would Cher be a Scientolowife, hanging out with the Beckhams and tending to her and Tom's twelve children (eight of whom were actually fathered by L. Ron Hubbard.)

Then again, maybe Tom would be wearing assless chaps and dancing on an aircraft carrier.

Tom Cruise and Oprah and Not a Couch in Sight

In case you haven't been reading FameCrawler, or are too busy spending your tax rebate check to read the tabloids, Tom Cruise will be making a return visit to the Oprah Winfrey show to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his breakout role in "Risky Business." Yeah, way back when, before the Scientolobots got a hold of him.

This is the first photo released from the two-part interview (airing this Friday, May 2), which took place at Tom's home in Telluride, Colorado. That is one spectacular view from Tom's home - unless it's just an elaborately painted backdrop made to simulate life in a lavish and moneyed environment. Celebrities are clever that way.

But, hey look - no couch!

In the second segment, which will air on Monday, May 5, Tom will join Oprah at her studio in Chicago. Let's hope Oprah removes the furniture.

Posh, who celebrated her 34th birthday - with like 45 parties - threw another at Via Veneto restaurant in Santa Monica on Sunday and guess who was there? That's right, Tom and Katie. Together. As in they're not breaking up? And I guess that also means that Posh and Katie are still BFF's?

Holmes actually looks normal in the photos - not her usual robotic self as of late. Maybe there's hope that Tom Cruise is becoming normal? Oh surely I kid.

Also attending the dinner: Will Smith and wife Jada, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, Kate Beckinsale, Elton John, Eva Longoria and Diddy.

Katie Holmes was spotted leaving a bank building on Thursday, carrying a few books, Blackberry and a Billy Elliot dvd. And while all that is super interesting, what's even more interesting, is her vacant, blank look. Was she just tired from planning Suri's party or is her marriage really taking a toll?

Katie used to be so young and pretty - well she's still young and still pretty, but she looks different - weary. I can only imagine living with Tom Cruise and the pressure to be a viewed as a perfect wife must be exhausting. Plus all that Xenu, the aliens are coming BS - now that must really be tiring.

Katie is leaving! And Tom taking Suri! Lies - according to Tom Cruise.

Reports of Katie Holmes leaving her husband Tom Cruise, and he in turn threatening to take their daughter Suri, are untrue. While the couple have been busy planning Suri's birthday party, they've also been busy doing damage control.

According to Star & In Touch, Holmes was a prisoner in her own home, her health was suffering and her life was falling apart because Tom is so controlling.

Cruise's mouthpiece denied that there was anything wrong in the life of TomKat and said there was no truth to Holmes being "crushed" by the marriage. Star alleged that Katie was planning to take Suri and head to New York to escape Tom.

A rep for Cruise said, "They are happily together. This is completely false and irresponsible reporting." This could one of those denials before the confirmation kinda thing. Time will tell.

What celebrity mom is going to be hitting the big stage of Broadway?

According to The Daily Mail, Katie Holmes is in final negotiations to make her debut on the Broadway stage. She'll be staring in a revival of Arthur Miller's All My Sons. Apparently Holmes will take part in a workshop this coming May. In the workshop, she'll play the part of a woman who visits her former neighbors, the family of a missing pilot she once loved.

Katie has said to producers that she is "serious about working in the theater."

Holmes had a good start to her acting career when she was one of the stars of Dawson's Creek and a handful of some choice roles in films. However her acting career took a back burner once she married Tom Cruise and had her daughter Suri. She did co-star in Mad Money recently, which, um, basically sucked.

Now Katie wants to get back to her acting -choice roles preferably - and one theater expert in London has said, "This play will be like a shop window for Katie. The aim to remind people of her acting chops. It's kind of a neat idea."

Katie Holmes was out for lunch the other day - again with no Suri in sight. So where the heck is the Cruise toddler?

Holmes was out with friends, dining at Joan's On Third but there was no sign of little Suri. Sure, moms should go out (even robot moms!) and have a girls' day but we're dying to see a glimpse of the cute toddler. Not an 'in your face' photo because paparazzi shouldn't be shoving cameras in kids' faces but just a peek from afar. The last public photo of Suri was January 16.

Maybe Suri got weirded out by her dad's birthday video - I mean the man does the splits twice - that would freak any kid out!

Her husband, Tom Cruise is paranoid that crazed fans or kidnappers might try to hurt his family, so he's installing more alarms, having a security guard and is apparently creating a moat that will wrap around his 13,000 square foot home. It seems a bit much to me but I'm not a ~~crazy Scientologist~~ famous celebrity, so what do I know? Maybe he's just a concerned husband and dad. ~~Take Suri and run Katie!~~

Katie told friends that she "feels like a prisoner in her own home." A source said, "There will be codes and devices that only Tom will have the secret information to operate. Katie, who led a carefee life before she met Tom, says it'll be like a prison. Every move she makes inside or outside their house will be recorded. She says she'll feel as though there is no escape from Tom's controlling ways. You can escape the eyes of another person by going to a different part of the house. But [Katie] knows she can't escape the roving eyes of the cameras that are constantly sweeping the house."

The insider continued, "Katie will barely be able to move around in her own home without being monitored by cameras and electricial devices."

Well Katie did daydream about Tommie when she was growing up. Becareful what you wish for!

Plus, there's that whole creepy Scientology thing (hope Xenu doesn't come snatch me away). To help him celebrate his birthday, the sect spent a reported SIX figures to throw a big bash for Tom, although they dispute Andrew Morton's claim that Cruise is prominent in the hierarchy of the Church of Scientology.

Although the Church has said that Tom is "neither 2nd or 100th. Mr Cruise is a Scientology parishioner and holds no official or unofficial position in the Church hierarchy. Claims to the contrary are offensive to both Mr Cruise and the Church" - it seems odd that they favor him.

Cher was recently on Good Morning America and she confirmed that she did indeed date Tom Cruise in the '80s. While she didn't exactly say that she had sex with the creepy Scientologist, I'll assume they did it.

She said that Tommy wasn't a Scientologist back then and that he was "just the most adorable man you can imagine." I'm speechless.

Another little tidbit of interest is that her ex - father to her daughter Chastity - Sonny Bono was a Scientologist. Um really? Maybe they weren't as weird back then.

Apparently giving money helps them rid mankind of "psychology ills and other 'aberrant' behavior." Interestingly enough, Cartwright donated twice as much as Tom Cruise, who received an award for ~~being nuts~~ giving. Cruise donated twice - giving $2.5 million each time and he had to do installment plans. You think'd that be chump change for Tommie ~~girl~~ boy.

Maybe. I mean, I'd prefer to think that she and Tom are not having sex, which would make pregnancy impossible (were it not for the creepy possibility of in-vitro Scientology cloning experiments, which, you know, do happen). Still, there's some fairly suspicious evidence emerging.

Katie Holmes just might be pregnant again because she was spotted buying a "Big Sister" t-shirt for Suri at Petit Tresor. She reportedly spent over $2,000 on baby clothes there. A source reported:

"Katie ordered loads of cute girlie spring dresses for Suri. But she also bought a pink t-shirt which said 'Big Sister' and two matching romper suits, one which said 'Little Sister' and one which said 'Little Brother'."

This is not exactly going to help Tom Cruise in his fight to convince the world that he is not insane and that Scientology is not a cult.

According to Associated Press (France), the niece of the current leader of the Church of Scientology has denounced Scientology for its practices and come out in defense of Andrew Morton's controversial biography of Tom Cruise, which paints a picture of the actor as, well, that guy in that video who laughs all crazy and says crazy shit.

The AFP report says that: In an open letter to a senior Scientology official that has been widely posted on the Internet, Jenna Miscavige Hill described how her own family was broken apart by the movement's policies.

Hill's father is Ron Miscavige, the older brother of David Miscavige, the current leader of the Church of Scientology.

"Hell, if Scientology can't keep his family together -- then why on earth should anyone believe the church helps brings families together!" she wrote.

Hill wrote the letter after Scientology attacked writer Andrew Morton's recently published book "Tom Cruise: an Unauthorised Biography". The Church's public affairs director, Karen Pouw, denounced the book as a "bigoted defamatory assault replete with lies".

The AP report says that in her reply to Pouw, Hill retorted: "I am absolutely shocked at how vehemently you insist upon not only denying the truths that have been stated about the church in that biography, but then take it a step further and tell outright lies."

In particular she challenges Scientology's denial that it puts pressure on members to break all contact with relatives who do not support the movement -- a practice known as disconnection.

Hill said it was this policy that broke up her own family.

Goodness knows Tom Cruise gets made fun of in the public eye on a daily basis.

Pal Adam Sandler and others have had enough and want the press to stop poking fun at Cruise. Sandler told People Magazine: "To see anyone's private life invaded and mocked like this is sickening. It's especially gross when it happens to a guy like Cruise, who's a great dad, a great husband, and a great friend."

Dustin Hoffman had this to say: "Tom Cruise is an American and has the right to freedom of speech and freedom of religion."

Dan Snyder, who is working a deal in financing Cruise/Wagner Productions: "Tom is a winner. That's a fact," Snyder writes in an e-mail. "He is a terrific actor, a terrific father and a terrific person. I'm proud to be his friend."

Ben Stiller and more of the actor's friends go to bat for him in this week's issue of People. Says Stiller: "Imagine having a baby and people talking about it the way they did," says Stiller. "People lose sight of the fact that Tom Cruise is actually a person. I feel for him."

I have to admit there's a certain amount of nagging thoughts of Karma after you've made fun of a celebrity. I've been on a Britney strike for over a week. I refuse to write about her until she gets real help.

People say Cruise brings it on himself, what with his expression of his religion, but the fact is, this video was leaked. For whatever reason, the Church of Scientology felt the public wasn't ready for it, and judging by people's immature reactions, the Church in this case, was right. Whether I believe in any religion is irrelevant here. Dustin Hoffman has a point. If Cruise and Holmes were devout Christians, would we vilify them in the papers and magazines about that?

Something to think about. Either that, I'm having a soft moment this morning.

Somehow, I Don't Think That Defenders From Battlefield Earth Are What Tom Cruise Needs Right Now

Tom Cruise could really benefit with some support from the legions of the sane right now, if he's to save himself from becoming more of a public laughingstock than he already is. You know, find himself a person or two who clearly has their head screwed on properly - which is to say, not a raving Scientologist - to defend his mental well-being. That is, if his mental condition could be said to be well, which I highly doubt.

What he doesn't need, on the heels of his lunatic cult-freak Scientology-recruitment video being unleashed on the internets, is another batshit-crazy cult-freak coming to his defense. Or someone who made the most appallingly hilarious cult-freak Scientology-recruitment video of all time. Certainly not both, which is precisely what John Travolta, producer and star of the Scientology promo flick Battlefield Earth, is.

Travolta recently told People magazine that the intense media scrutiny of Tom's ~~lunacy~~ beliefs has gone too far. "[Tom] has – we all have – the right to practice how we feel," he said at Australia.com's G'Day L.A. gala celebrating Australia Week 2008. "It finally becomes unfair."

Right. Sure it's unfair to make of fun of grown-men doing the celebrity public relations equivalent of donning little tinfoil hats and waving light sabers in public, but it's more unfair to expect people to resist doing so. That would be cruel and unusual punishment, like asking a pregnant woman not to eat the plate of chocolate bonbons sitting right in front of her (*cough*).

Get these men publicists. Good, sane ones. Please. And leave me to my chocolate in peace.

And by crazy, I mean he's a Scientologist and apparently proud of it. Cruise was recently awarded the 'Freedom Medal of Valor' at an International Association of Scientologists event. You have to watch the video ... it's gives me chills, with Tom's creepy intense eyes and his "passion" for the subject. This clip comes shortly after shocking allegations were made by author Andrew Morton concerning Tom Cruise in his new book.

Risky Business: Rebecca De Mornay DUI

Actress Rebecca De Mornay, best known for her role opposite Tom Cruise in Risky Business, was charged yesterday with misdeanor drunken driving stemming from her arrest back in October. What is with these celebrities who are idiots, and can't either take a cab, get a designated driver, ride a bus, walk, anything but get behind the wheel after they've BEEN DRINKING?

L.A. District Attorney spokeswoman said De Mornay was charged with one count of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and one count of driving with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit of .08.

De Mornay is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday. Calls to her reps have gone unanswered. Hmm, wonder why? What are they gonna say, 'yes, we know, she's a moron.' Got that right!

Rebecca has 2 young daughters with her ex, Patrick O'Neal, son of Ryan O'Neal. Great example mom.

With the first wedding anniversary of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes approaching, the question on everyone's mind is, "What will Tom buy Katie?" I know I've been losing sleep over it, and this right after I'd finally found peace of mind over the fact that Paul and Heather will not be reconciling.

Cruise was being honored on Tuesday night at the Museum of the Moving Image at its annual black-tie salute and was asked what he and Holmes would be doing to celebrate their one year anniversary. "I've got some things in store," he answered. When asked if he had secret plans for his wife he answered, "Absolutely!"

So what does a slightly maniacal mega-superstar gazzillionaire give his marathon-running, maybe-held-against-her-will wife for their paper anniversary? I've got ideas!
