Shia LaBeouf's Childhood Plagued By Naked Mom

Shia LaBeouf may seems like a somewhat normal, well-adjusted human being, but just beneath the surface, he may have some deep-seated psychological issues stemming from his mom's addicition to nudity.

Apparently, Shia's parents were dyed in the wool hippies of the most embarrassing and emotionally scarring variety: nudists -- especially his mother.

“The nudity was weird, especially when her friends came over,” he tells Playboy in their June issue — on sale May 15. “All of them would just be naked around the house. That was strange for me, and it was really bizarre when my friends were there. You’ve got your little buds over, and Mom’s, like, playing naked connect the dots or whatever. She’s in the middle of goddess-group time, where it’s literally a bunch of naked women tracing auras around one another’s bodies with incense and then sitting together and humming for prolonged periods of time.”

Apparently, there was a lot of openness in Shia's household. His dad smoked pot in the house and he says that's given him a pretty liberal attitude about drug use. He also recently called his mom the "sexiest woman I know."

We've all been damaged by our hippie parents at some level -- either by inheriting their LSD-soaked DNA, or just the weird rituals they made us observe growing up. Still, it sounds like Shia's experience was on a whole different level.

Somewhere down the line, that guy's going to need hours of intense therapy to get over his mommy issues, but at least he can afford it.

The cast and crew of the latest Indiana Jones film were photographed for Vanity Fair. There are enough parents here to justify our showing them to you.

The pictures of Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg were taken by Annie Leibovitz. That's a lot of cool on one set.

Shia LaBeouf Not Interested in Being Skank

Shia Labeouf, one of the Hollywood rich kids, is learning from the mistakes of others, namely Lindsay Lohan. Glad to see someone is learning from her mistakes.

Says Labeouf, "I want a career like those guys (Nick Cage, Sean Penn), not like a Lindsay Lohan. She's a talented actress but has made some scary decisions." Ya think? "I want a career that's different from some of the people of my generation." By "some" he obviously means "most" of them.

"Being seen just as a celebrity can be as bad as having your movie tank." What knowledge is this, dropped like it's hot? Somehow Shia has managed to maintain a pretty good head on his shoulders. Let's hope he doesn't lose it on the mean streets of Hollywood. And that his parents are proud.
