Johnny Depp Kicks It In The Caribbean On The Family Yacht

Family man Johnny Depp's yacht has been spotted anchored off the coast of Puerto Rico this week, where he's filming his latest Hunter Thompson-inspried endeavor, The Rum Diary.

The 156-foot-long luxury yacht is named the Valojiroja -- a combination of all the names of his family unit: Vanessa, Johnny, Lily Rose, and Jack -- is meant to sound like "the jolly roger" if you say it with just the right rum drenched pirate accent. It's apparently where Johnny is kicking back after filming hours on the set, rather than pillaging the all the hot spots on the island. Like I said, he's a family man.

Late last year, Depp and family we're spotted ~~sailing~~ motoring the high seas near Florida, along with a crew of 7. No word on whether the family's planning a similar cruise in the Caribbean this spring.

How awesome would it be to tool around the world on a luxury yacht as a kid? Or to have Johnny Depp as a parent? Just as long as they don't run into any real pirates.

In related news, Johnny has signed on to do Pirates of the Caribbean 4 next year. Director Gore Verbinski and Keira Knightley have had enough though.

Vanessa Paradis Talks About Marrying Johnny Depp

Women the world over are jealous of Vanessa Paradis. Such is life when you're the girlfriend of the world's sexiest man, Johnny Depp. And rumors have been circulating for years about her and Johnny getting married. Vanessa says the rumors are false.

"Each summer people say we're supposed to be getting married," Vanessa says. "But we don't talk about it that much." The couple have been together for 10 years now, and they have two children together, Jack, 6, and Lily Rose, 9. "He's got me, and he knows he's got me."

Vanessa, 35, says, "I love the romance of 'let's get married,' but then, when you have it so perfect...I mean, I'm more married than anybody can be. We have two kids. Maybe one day, but it's something I can really do without."

When asked if Vanessa has managed to tame the movie star, she says, "Tamed. What's that? Like a lion? Nooo, no, we did it to each other. Maybe I'm a good girlfriend because I'm his girlfriend. I'm not sure I'd be a good girlfriend to anyone else...same for him. It's something that's natural, obvious, and beautiful."

She totally gets how women want to mob Depp, too. "I understand. I want to mob him all the time, I do. He's a very charming person."

Hard to believe Depp got his start on "21 Jump Street" all those years ago. I played the giant teddy bear in a 3rd grade production of "The Nutcracker" to rave reviews and didn't get squat.

Johnny Depp's baby mama and long time girlfriend Vanessa Paradis will soon be featured in Prada's fall campaign.

Prada unveiled its Fall 2008 campaign starring the 35-year-old model/singer, Vanessa Paradis. Miuccia Prada chose Vanessa because she has “certain powerful independence” and captures “the overlapping qualities of fragility and feminine strength.”

It probably comes from being a mother, that balance of oh my goodness I love you so much I don't know what I'd do without you and the oh my goodness will you just do as I say without testing the limits just this once.

This does mean that she will have to leave the French countryside that she's been hiding in.

Johnny Depp Getting Married?

Johnny Depp and his longtime partner Vanessa Paradis (the 'e' is invisible) are reportedly going to go legit. The couple have been together for 10 years and have two children.

Life & Style is claiming that the June wedding will be held in Georgia so that most of Depp's family can attend. Her family can watch the video.

Depp has reportedly said, “For all intents and purposes, we are married. If [she] ever said, ‘Hey, let’s get hitched,’ I would do it in a second.”

Life & Style recently interviewed Johnny Depp and though his answers were corny, mushy dad stuff, I still love this man.

Q: You’re such a famous actor — how important is your family in keeping you grounded?

A: My family is my sanctuary. I live for them. I finally found a reason to exist in this world. There’s nothing like it. I would give away everything if I could only keep my family. They have given me life, and they’re the greatest gift in the world. "

Q: How do you keep your romance with Vanessa so strong?

A: I think trust is the most important thing in a relationship, along with the ability to communicate honestly with each other. Once communication stops, that waylays danger.

Q: You and Vanessa never married — do you think you will at some point?

A: We have considered ourselves husband and wife since the day we moved in together. We just haven’t gone through the formality.

Q: How do you feel about having to raise your children in today’s uncertain world?

A: As a parent, my job, besides giving them love and education, is to protect them by not allowing the harsh realities and difficulties of our world into theirs. You’ve got these pure, innocent little things, and all they want is love and happiness.

Q: You move around with your family a lot, having lived in LA and France. Have you always been such a free spirit?

A: Yes. It has to do with my upbringing. I don’t like to be stuck in one place for too long. We were total nomads when I was growing up. We traveled around all the time. It’s ingrained in my being. I think it’s good for kids to get out there and see the world.

Q: You’ve been working a lot lately. What would be your dream vacation?

A: Running around on the beach with the kids and taking them out on the boat. I want to take them swimming with dolphins, though hopefully not with sharks!

Pirates of the Carribean star Johnny Depp is adamant about never bringing his children back to the U.S.

Currently raising them in Northern France with wife Vanessa Paradis, Depp had this to say:

"I'm not particularly optimistic about society.We're in an age where everything has gone too far. It's an ugly world. "I'm truly frightened of America in terms of raising my daughter here. I don't believe that is an option at all."

Who can blame him? Northern France sounds a hell of a lot better than being chased by the paparazzi to pre-school and back.

Depp and Paradis are parents to 8 year old Lily Rose, and 5 year old Jack.

Aye, that there be Johnny Depp, says I. Damn, I was going to run with the pirate theme, but that's annoying.

Johnny Depp and his girlfriend, French actress Vanessa Paradis, are taking a vacation sailing the Mediterranean. The couple, who are rumored to be getting hitched, officially, after being together for nearly 10 years, have two children, 7-year-old Lily-Rose and Jack, 4. Notice that Jack was born after Depp took the role of Captain Jack Sparrow. He's lucky he wasn't named Ichabod.

Perhaps you noticed that Depp's movies, specifically a few pirate things he did, seemed to have done okay. That being the case, he can afford a few indulgences, like say, his own island.

Says Johnny, "The only thing money means to me is the freedom it buys me. Living in the islands is heaven. It'll be easier to give a normal upbringing there."

No don't get me wrong, but define normal. I've read Lord of the Flies, there's nothing normal about kids being raised on an island. Then again, normal is overrated.

Johnny Depp, You Had Me At 'Cheap Stroller'

So sue me, but Johnny Depp does absolutely nothing for me. While most women fantasize about taking him home and having their way with him, the only reason I'd like to take him home would be to point him to the shower armed with a good loofah and some strong detergent.

But then I saw this picture of Depp, singer Vanessa Paradis and their son Jack and I have to admit my heart melted just a little. No, it wasn't the gentle, guiding hand he has on Paradis' shoulder, or the fact that it's the first picture I've seen of Depp in years where he doesn't look like he'd just been dipped in oil.

It was the stroller he's pushing, an unpretentious, ordinary stroller that even mere mortals could afford. While Tori Spelling prances around town with a $3000 monstrosity, Depp and Paradis are out walking with what appears to be a modest Graco Glider, which retails for $79.00. I figure if Spelling had bought one of these instead, she would've had $2921 left over to put towards Baby Einstein tapes.

Okay, Johnny, I have to admit now that you are kind of cute. Which just goes to prove that, contrary to popular belief, sometimes the way to a girl's heart is through a cheap set of wheels.
